"So, what did you find?" I asked the snake.

"Nothing conclusive," he said, leaning back and running his hands through his hair in frustration. "We examined immigration reports from all corners of the Five Kingdoms, and we can't prove or disprove the statements of the assassins because there are a lot of people with the same names and descriptions who have recently immigrated into our country."

"That's exactly the problem with descriptions, right?" I added. "They are very subjective and generic. If only there was a magical painter who could paint portraits in seconds and make multiple copies of them to circulate everywhere."

"Or perhaps a magical device," the snake replied.

"Magical device?" I said sarcastically. "Keep dreaming."

"I am optimistic," he replied, and I was about to counter that but was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said, and Vinod entered.

"Greetings, sir," he said, handing me a paper with some blood stains on it. "The assassins gave some information about their allies and future plans."

"Why are there blood stains on it?" the snake asked, visibly shocked and uneasy.

"We cut off their vocals, sir, remember?" Vinod answered. "So, they had to write the information down."

The snake fell silent, visibly uncomfortable with the casual and cold tone of the statement.

I am loving this!

"Ge-General, you're okay with this?" he stuttered.

"Yes," I replied confidently, much to his discomfort, and turned to Vinod. "How confident are you that this information is correct?" I asked.

"Fairly confident, sir," he replied. "But please do the due diligence to confirm if it's true. Meanwhile, my team and I will try to extract more information if any."

"Alright," I replied. "Thank you."

Vinod nodded. "I'll take my leave, sir," he said and immediately left, as if he couldn't wait to get back to the culprits and torture them.

Surprisingly, he did not even follow his tradition of glancing at the statue on my table before leaving.

"Information about their allies," I said, placing the paper on the table. "What is the best way to catch them?"

"Wow, this is a huge network," the snake said, scanning the papers. "They have multiple people in different districts."

"And messages spread fast," I added. "If we go to arrest one, the nearby ones will escape."
