We're Going To Ibiza

We'd arrived safely in Ibiza, I hadn't spent much of the flight with Katie. I'd swapped seats with Anna, so I could sit with Leah. The flight had been filled mostly with the girls and the odd couple of people none of us knew. I did feel sorry for the people who had somehow ended up with our group, on that flight! Between Katie's loud mouth and consistent annoying antics and Beth's loud laughs, that seemed to start as we left the ground and ended once we'd landed. Not forgetting Tooney's silly mood and loud mouth also, I don't think there was an ounce of quiet the entire flight! It's probably just as well Kim wasn't here. I'm fairly sure our team Mother would have turned alcoholic not even half way through the flight.

Leah was however a very welcome distraction, she knew I hated heights and at the major moments, particularly during turbulence held my hand. She knew how to calm my nerves. Katie had opted in trying to make me jump and saying stupid stuff that hadn't helped in the slightest. I don't know if it was because she was caught up in the excitement of going to Ibiza or if she was showing off... I'd like to think that for a moment she'd forgotten about my fears. Whatever the reason, I'd felt safe with Leah.

We strolled through the airport in our group, Katie, Ella and Beth were walking with Anna and a few others. I stay with Leah, Vic, Viv and Jordan. "You alright?" Viv asked, her voice full of concern. "Yeah I'm good." I nod. "You look as though you've seen a ghost." Jordan commented, her facial features mirroring Viv's. "Honestly I'm good. I'm glad to be off the plane. My feet are firmly on the ground, as they should be." I chuckled lightly. "How the hell do you fly for work?" Jordan laughs. I grab Leah's hand gently squeezing it. "I got me a Leah." I smile, Leah gently squeezed my hand back and quickly kissed my forehead. "Always got you, Bubba." Leah smiled. "Thanks Le." I grin. By the time we got to passport control, I could feel the colour coming back to my cheeks. I felt ready to start the holiday, I wasn't able to see Katie but I figured if I stayed with Leah, Viv, Vic and Jordan, then we'd eventually meet with the others once we got through to the other side.

As I thought, we met most of the group at the luggage carousel, it was only then I realised Katie hadn't been ahead of us. She had been behind us, I'm not really sure how since she had been in front of us when we got off the plane. I caught her eye as she walked through the doors, I smile at her and she smiles back. It wasn't her usual smile, it didn't seem to meet her eyes. But it was a smile. I didn't think much of it at the time. One by one we collected our luggage, once we had ours we waited for the others to get theirs. Mine took forever to come through, once it finally did I reached out to get it, apparently so did Katie. "Let me." She said as she lifted it off for me. "Thanks, Katie. Such a gentlewoman." I look at her, my heart skipping a beat as her biceps flexed. Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

Once we all collected our bags we headed out the doors of the airport and waited for our private hire coach to collect us. We weren't waiting long and the driver seemed nice enough. He was jolly and if anything hyped us all up even more. We all climb onto the coach and found ourselves a seat, I sit myself down near the window. A few of the girls had found a seat and were either sat on their own temporarily or with someone. Light chatter filled the coach, as everyone talked amongst themselves. The last few people got on and I was joined by Katie, who had some kind of look of relief on her face.  "Hey." I smiled. Katie doesn't say anything but as soon as I was done with my bag and my hands were on my lap, she grabbed one and interlocked our fingers, squeezing gently as she held my hand. "Are you ok?" I asked quietly, not wanting to draw attention to us. "Yeah." She nodded and squeezed my hand tighter. Clearly all was not as ok as she made out, it was. I decided not to question it further, it seemed like Katie didn't really want to talk. I watched the world go by for the majority of the way to our hotel, occasionally looking at Katie who seemed to be in her own thoughts.

We arrived at the hotel we were all staying out, each one of us checked in and were handed our keys for the room we would be staying in. We waited for everyone to have checked in and regrouped. "So is everyone cool with meeting in an hour? Maybe outside the entrance?" Katie asked. I turn to look at her, a little shocked by her request. "An hour?" Leah repeated, before looking at me. "Ohhh, I get it." She winked. "Gonna christen the room are ya?" She teased. "Yeah something like that." Katie pulled me into her, her hand firmly on my hip, I bite my lip lightly. "Alright an hour it is then." Jordan agreed. The rest of the girls agree and we all go our separate ways to our rooms. Katie and I were alone now, her mood seemed to shift.
