The bright rays of sunshine blend through the curtains and fell on Miraal's peaceful slumber face. She squinted her eyes before finally opening them. She sat down at the bed before stretching her arms. A permanent smile was etched onto her face. She glanced around the room and saw the bright rays coming inside the room.
She stood up from the bed before going into the washroom. She took a shower before coming out and choosing her clothes for the day. Today she was feeling much happier than the rest. Maybe, it's just the good vibes or maybe her reason of happiness lies behind a certain lawyer cousin. Who was now her fiance also.
Fiance.
She whispered checking the feel of it on her lips. She giggled before changing into her attire. She had work today. She hasn't gone since the day of the meeting. The last week went in a blur. She had given a leave but today she needs to go there. As she got dressed, she came downstairs.
The dining hall was filled with chatter. She made her presence known before sitting down at the corner of the table as usual. She glanced around the hall and found every single one sitting. But there was no sign of Irtaza. Her heart sank. It's the first day after their engagement. She thought he might be present there.
But seeing him nowhere kind of disappointed her. But she masked her disappointed very well and dug into her breakfast. No-one talked to her and she hurriedly completed her breakfast. She stood up at the same moment when Saima entered inside the dining hall from the kitchen.
"Are you leaving, beta?"
She nodded her head. She walked outside after bidding farewell to her mother. As she was walking outside, her mind drifted off to Irtaza. She thought he might be there. She doesn't know why she wanted him to be present. She was sulking. She was walking with her head down when she heard a voice from behind
"Are you done sulking?"
She turned back to find Irtaza standing there. He was dressed in a casual black pants with a white polo shirt. Amusement danced around his face.
"What do you mean?"
Miraal asked. Crossing her arms around her chest. Irtaza chuckled before he walked further towards her. He stopped at a safe distance from her. He might be her fiance. But he isn't her husband. Yet.
"Dare I say, you look quite cute while sulking."
Her face turned a deep shade of red. Irtaza had first time complimented her and it created a havoc inside her. Seeing her flustered face, Irtaza chuckled yet again.
"Stop!"
She whispered. Her cheeks becoming crimson.
"C'mon. Let me drop you."
He suggested. Miraal looked at him wide eyed. He was offering to drop her. Of course. He's her fiance. She can go with him. Not only her fiance. He was also her cousin.
"Don't worry. I had asked Mami's permission. But if you're still not comfortable than it's perfectly fine."
Irtaza further elaborated when he found her giving no response. Miraal shrugged out of her stupor before she shook her head.
"No no it's ok."
He nodded his head before they both made their way towards his car. Irtaza opened the door to Miraal's side and her heart flutter. He looked extra handsome doing it. She again blushed and noticed a smirk over his face. She instantly sat down inside not wanting to embarrass herself more. Irtaza shook his head. A small smile dancing on his lips.
