The bright morning light shone around the room casting it in a golden halo. The birds were singing and the morning shiny and bright. Miraal stirred in her sleep before opening her eyes. She blinked few times to get rid of the sleepiness before she glanced at the open window. The wind was cool today.
They were approaching mid October and although it was still hot, she could feel a slight chill in the environment. She tried to turn around but felt a heavy weight weighing her down. She looked down to find a forearm. She turned her head to see Irtaza fast asleep. His arm resting over her stomach.
That's was the weight she felt. Her lips automatically turned up into a wide grin. Remembering the last night confession, she blushed. She never knew she would confess her love for him like that. She thought it might be a special night where there would just be them.
But maybe that's how it supposed to have be. It made them real. It made them, them. She lightly traced her fingers over his cheeks. His face serene. No worry. No tension. Just him sleeping peacefully. She really doesn't want to wake him up. The last night, he looked really tired.
Maybe, he need a rest day. An off day to unwind himself. They were so busy in their work that they didn't get to enjoy their post marital days. So, she let him sleep. She turned around and nuzzled her face into his chest. His musky smell gathering her whole. She felt him turn and wrapped his arms around her tightly.
She totally basked herself into the soothing feeling and fall asleep again.
It was around at eleven that Irtaza's eyes stirred open. He squinted his eyes before he roamed his eyes around. His gaze fall on the sleeping beauty of his wife and his lips stretched upwards. He gently lay a kiss over her forehead before quietly sitting up on the bed. He glanced at her.
She looked so damn cute and peaceful. He again kissed her cheeks before standing up and heading towards the bathroom to get a shower.
When he came out, his wife was still fast asleep. His lips turned up into a mischievous grin before he sat down on the bed. He ruffled his wet hairs at her face and she jerked up in her sleep.
"Wake up, sleepy head."
He spoke softly before ruffling his hairs again. The wet droplets fell on Miraal's face and she finally opened her eyes. She narrowed her eyes at him before he broke into a chuckle
"C'mon, wake up."
She groaned before sitting up on the bed. Irtaza tucked her hairs behind her ears before saying
"Get fresh."
She looked at him before mumbling
"Are you going to work today?"
Irtaza thought for a while before nodding his head. Her face fell. She needed time with him. Just him and her. No-one else. Can't they have one day without any trouble?
"Can you not go today?"
She asked in a low voice. It made him think. He needed to have a conversation with Arsalan. They need to know if Abrar said anything to Rohaan or whoever his leader is. But at the same time, he saw the look in his wife's eyes. She never asked for anything. They've been married for a few weeks now. She was always really supportive.
She understands him and never complaint. And it made him guilty that he can't provide her basic happiness. So, he asked
"Do you want me not to?"
Miraal softly nodded her head. He sighed. One day won't hurt, right. They needed some time to unwind themselves. They've been so cooped up into work that they don't get to spend time with each other.
