Six Months Later
Turkey ( Istanbul)
"The fingerprints on the handle matched the fingerprints of Mr. Arif, your honour."
The voice boomed into the court room. A trial was being done. A case that was going cold if she doesn't step up to take it. Her speaking still lacking a bit skill. But her debates strong. Her demeanour calm and collected. Her path straight.
Miraal Taimur Baig now Miraal Haroon was a becoming a famous lawyer day by day here in Turkey. People look forward to her cases. Her consistency towards her work and her sense of solving the case is what attracted the public.
They were in awe of her. Sure, there were quite debate as why she was chosing to start her career here but slowly, she left all her critics behind. Her hard work and her commitment to her goal of justice overpowering everything else. Now, no-one speak behind her. No-one hushed in whispers about her.
They all respected her now. Why wouldn't they? She was a great lawyer. Her wining rate getting stronger day by day. Her calm to the bone yet lethal attitude always sparks interest in the public. And she was also the wife of their Beloved Lawyer too.
It was a moment to watch when the public heard the news of Irtaza Haroon married and coming back here along with his wife. And the public went crazy. And Miraal wouldn't forget how the firm employees treated her when she first joined as the lawyer in their firm.
They all respected her from the very first day. They all were in awed of her. They all watched her trial where she finally was able to get Rohaan and Demir Demirhani arrested. And since then, they were intrigued by her.
As the court remained quite for their discussion. Miraal held her spot. She watched as Mr. Arif, the man in question was boring holes into her. She was unfazed by her. The judge finally looked at her before he announced the decree
"By seeing all the evidences, I here by announce Mr. Arif charged as guilty. He will serve ten years in jail with hard labour."
Miraal smiled. Her grin widening as she watched the culprit in question being punished for his crime. She stood to her spot watching as he was dragged away by the police officers. She finally grabbed her stuff as the people in court congratulated her. Yet, again she won another case.
She grabbed her stuff before walking outside the court room. As she walked out, her husband was already waiting for her in the corridor. As she saw him, her smile only widened if that's to say. She walked towards him. His face proud.
"Ah, I heard I'm getting a strong competitor."
He teased. She chuckled.
"Then you must be ready."
Irtaza laughed.
"How was it?"
He was talking about the trial. She just shrugged. A teasing smile over her face.
"I'm super proud of you."
His voice was filled with appreciation.
Her heart swelled. Even after almost one year since their wedding, he still managed to steal her heart every freaking time. Everyday. He never fails to brighten up her day. He always managed to make her laugh whenever she's having a bad day.
"What do you say about a lunch date?"
He asked. She squinted her eyes.
"Sure. I'm kind of hungry too."
They both walked outside the court house. Hands in hands. The cool breath of the Istanbul flowing on their faces. But it was a fresh start. When they first decided to shit here indefinitely, Miraal was a little skeptical. Her mother wanted to stay back. Her one homeland. But Miraal really wanted a fresh start.
