The doors of the ambulance swung open, and Ben and Dean carefully unloaded the gurney onto the ground. Miranda Bailey, Teddy Altman, and Owen Hunt immediately rushed over, their faces filled with concern.
"What do we have?" Teddy asked, her eyes scanning over Maya's unconscious form.
Dean quickly rattled off the details. "Female patient, approximately 29 years old. High fever, low blood pressure, and a slow heart rate. She collapsed at a fire scene and hasn't regained consciousness since."
Bailey's expression was grave as she listened. "Alright, let's get her into the trauma room immediately. We need to get her stabilized."
Owen quickly stepped in, helping to push the gurney towards the entrance. "Let's move, people. Every second counts."
As they wheeled Maya through the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial, a flurry of activity surrounded them. Nurses and doctors quickly joined them, preparing for Maya's arrival in the trauma room.
Teddy and Owen led the way, their minds racing with the possible diagnoses and treatment plans. Once in the trauma room, they quickly transferred Maya from the gurney to the bed, connecting her to various monitors.
Bailey took charge, barking out orders left and right. "Get me a set of her vitals. Start an IV with broad-spectrum antibiotics and fluids. I want blood work STAT. We need to figure out what we're dealing with here."
Nurses and doctors swarmed around the bed, carrying out Bailey's instructions with practiced efficiency. Monitors buzzed as they were attached to Maya, and the room filled with the sound of hushed conversations and the beeping of machines.
The room fell silent for a moment as Maya stirred, her eyes slowly fluttering open. She groggily looked around, trying to make sense of her surroundings.
Owen stepped forward, his voice gentle. "Bishop, can you hear me? You're in Grey Sloan Memorial. You collapsed at a fire scene and we brought you here."
Maya's gaze shifted towards Owen, her eyes unfocused. She tried to speak, but her voice was weak and raspy. "What... happened?"
Owen placed a gentle hand on her shoulder to reassure her. "We're not sure yet, but we're going to find out. Just try to relax and let us do our job, okay?"
Maya nodded weakly, sinking back against the pillows. Her head was pounding and her body felt heavy, exhaustion weighing her down.
Jo leaned against the counter, a smile on her face. "So, you and Maya, huh? When did that happen?"
Carina said "How did you found out her name."
Jo chuckled, holding up her hands in mock surrender. "Whoa, easy there. Calm down. I have my sources."
Carina rolled her eyes, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "Oh, really? And who are these 'sources' of yours?"
Jo winked. "You know I can't reveal my sources. Doctor-patient confidentiality and all that."
Carina raised an eyebrow, a small smirk on her face. "Oh, so you're going to use the Hippocratic Oath against me, huh?"
Jo shrugged, grinning. "Hey, it's a useful card to play when it comes to nosy friends."
Carina chuckled, shaking her head slightly. "You're incorrigible, you know that?"
Jo chuckled as well. "Guilty as charged. So, back to you and Maya. Spill the details, Carina."
Carina leaned on the counter, a dreamy expression on her face. "What can I say? She's incredible. She's strong, determined, and has a heart of gold. Plus, those blue eyes... god, they're mesmerizing."
