Addison's tone was professional and reassuring as she explained, "Certainly, Ms. Bishop. In the days leading up to the implantation, you'll need to continue taking the prescribed medications to prepare your body for the procedure. On the day of the implantation, you'll need to arrive at the clinic fasted, no food or liquids allowed."

She continued, "After the implantation, you'll need to take it easy for a few days, no strenuous activities or heavy lifting for at least 4-5 days."

Maya furrowed her eyebrows slightly, processing the instructions. "No food or drinks before... So does that mean the procedure is done first thing in the morning, then?"

Addison confirmed, "Yes, the implantation procedure will take place in the morning, so it's best to come fasted. The procedure itself is relatively quick and pain-free, typically taking around 10-15 minutes."

Maya let out a small sigh, already starting to miss her morning coffee. "Alright, I'll make sure to follow those instructions. Anything else I need to know or be prepared for, Dr. Montgomery?"

Addison replied, her tone warm and reassuring. "No, that's all for now. Just follow the pre-and aftercare instructions we'll send over, and be prepared for a pregnancy test about two weeks after the implantation. If it's positive, we'll schedule a follow-up appointment for an ultrasound."

Maya scribbled down the instructions, committing them to memory. "Thank you, Dr. Montgomery. I appreciate the information, and I'm ready for the implantation."

She paused, her voice soft. "Just one question - what are the odds of this actually working?"

Addison replied, her voice steady and confident. "The success rates of embryo implantation are generally high, around 60-70% in your age group. However, every woman's body responds differently, and there's always a chance of complications. But from what we've determined, the chances are in your favor, Ms. Bishop."

Maya inhaled deeply, a hint of hope in her voice. "Okay, that's reassuring to hear. I just want everything to go smoothly. Thanks again, Dr. Montgomery."

Addison responded, her tone kind. "You're welcome, Ms. Bishop. Remember, I'm always here to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Take care, and I'll see you Thursday for the implantation."

Maya said her goodbyes, the line going silent. She leaned back in her chair, contemplating the information she had just received. The words "60-70%" echoed in her mind, but she couldn't shake off the nagging doubt in the back of her head.

As Maya hung up the phone with Addison, the silence of the office enveloped her once again. The weight of the information she had just received weighed heavily on her mind. She knew she needed to talk to Carina, to share the updates on the embryo transfer.

With a determined expression, Maya picked up her phone again, dialing Carina's number.

The phone rang a few times, each ring sending a jolt of anxiety through Maya's chest. She hoped Carina would answer quickly, needing the comfort of her fiancée's voice to calm the tumultuous emotions swirling within her.

Meanwhile Carina was in the middle of a complex C-section procedure, her focus razor-sharp as she led her team through the delicate operation. The beeping of monitors and the sound of medical equipment filled the operating room, creating a frenzied atmosphere.

"Clamp," Carina instructed, her voice firm and commanding.

A nurse swiftly handed Carina the clamp, and she carefully applied it to the incision site. Carina's eyes were fixed on the procedure she was performing, her attention to detail and surgical expertise apparent in every move.
