Addison checked her schedule once more, confirming her availability for the following week. She responded, "Monday sounds perfect. Let's say around 10 am? That way, we'll have plenty of time to discuss everything we need to cover."
————————————————————————Carina agreed, her mind already racing with the thought of what was to come. She could hardly believe this was happening, that they were one step closer to potentially having a child of their own.
Carina responded, "10 am on Monday it is. We'll meet you in the OB/GYN department. And again, Dr. Montgomery, thank you deeply for everything."
Addison could sense the gratitude and hope in Carina's voice. She knew this process wouldn't be easy, but she also knew that with the right support and guidance, anything was possible.
She replied, "You're very welcome, Dr. DeLuca. I'm here to help you both every step of the way. See you on Monday, 10 am at Grey Sloan. I can't wait to meet you and your fiancée in person."
Carina ended the call, her heart filled with a mixture of emotions. She turned to Maya, who had been silently listening.
Carina's voice was breathless with a hint of disbelief. "She's coming, next Monday. Addison Montgomery is coming to Seattle to help us."
Maya's eyes widened, a mixture of anticipation and trepidration washing over her. This was it. They were actually going to start this journey.
She reached out to grasp Carina's hand, her voice trembling with emotion. "Wow. That's... that's really happening, huh? She's really coming."
Carina squeezed Maya's hand, feeling the weight of the moment. She could see the range of emotions on her fiancee's face and understood them all too well.
She nodded, her voice filled with determination. "Yeah, it is. And we're going to be okay. We're in this together."
Maya's phone rang as she and Carina sat on the couch, still reeling from the conversation with Addison. She glanced at the screen, seeing an unknown number. Curious, she answered it.
Maya put the phone to her ear. "Hello?"
The friendly voice of Jennifer, the real estate agent, came through the line. "Hello! Is this Maya Bishop?"
Maya nodded in recognition, even though Jennifer couldn't see her. "Yes, it is. How can I help you?"
Jennifer's tone was cheerful as she continued, "Great! I was calling to let you know that the owners of the house have confirmed they'd be happy to accept your offer. Everything looks good to go on their end, and we can move forward with the paperwork as soon as you're ready!"
Maya's eyes widened in surprise, a mix of excitement and slight disbelief coursing through her. She hadn't expected everything to move so quickly, but here they were, about to become homeowners.
She glanced at Carina, who was watching her curiously. Maya couldn't help but grin, feeling the weight of the moment. "That's... incredible news! I wasn't expecting everything to move so quickly, but I guess we should start getting the paperwork in order."
Jennifer chuckled warmly on the other end. "I know it can be a bit overwhelming when things move fast, but it's always a positive sign when everything seems to fall into place. How about we set up a time for you two to come into the office tomorrow to sign the necessary paperwork and get the ball rolling?"
Maya thought for a moment, looking at Carina who was listening intently. They were dealing with a lot with the upcoming meeting with Addison and the IVF process, but this was an important step closer to their dream of a family.
