Part 27 - uncovered feelings

Chloe pov:

I came back safe, and Red is still resting on her bed. Now, I just need to try and keep this a secret. I'm not usually a liar, but I think it's best if Red doesn't find out. I then looked at the time, and it was supper time. I gently shook Red awake.

Chloe: wake up, baby, it's supper time.

She then gets up, still a little half asleep.

Red: baby?

Chloe: it's a new pet name for you.

Red: pet name? What I'm not an animal.

I couldn't help but giggle at the clueless girl.

Chloe: No, a pet name it like a nickanem that isn't really a nickname. Kinda like how your mom called you darling or dear.

Red: Oh, i guess I like it a little.

Chloe: good cuz I hope to be able to use it for a long time.

I take her hand as we head off to the cafeteria.

Red pov:

As chloe was dragging me down the hall for supper, I noticed a paper bracelet around her wrist. It was a blue one. I never saw that.

Red: Hey Chloe, where did you get that blue bracelet on your wrist there?

She then froze as I almost ran into her. She lets go and looks at it. Her eyes wide. I'm so confused it's just a bracelet, no?

Chloe: Oh, it's nothing.

She then tried to take it off.

Red: Hey, don't tear it. I think it looks cute.

I say, holding her wrist. She looks at me.

Chloe: Sure, ok... I can keep it on for a little longer.

Then she turns around and walks without me. That was kinda weird. So we headed to the cafeteria and met up with our friends.

Red: Did you guys see Chloe's new bracelet?

I then take her hand and show it.

Mona and Jack l9oked at each other weird.

Leah: Red, that's not just a bracelet. They give you those at the hospital.

Red: What's a hospital?

I look at Chloe. She then does the gesture of "cut it out" at the friends sitting across the table from us. Why did she do that gesture?

Red: Chloe, what's a hospital?

She looks at me nervously

Chloe: it's where they take care of people in need....

Jack: No, it was injured or dying people go cause something went wrong

He blurred out. I turn to Chloe shocked. What was she doing at a hospital? Why does she have a bracelet.

Leah: Yep, that looks like the ones given to visitors.

Visitors? Who was she visiting at the hospital while I was asleep.

Red: What were you doing there, Chloe. visiting who?

Chloe:  it's nothing major. Red, someone I know just got hurt, so I went with them.

Red: Well, at least you're safe.

We ate food, but Chloe wasn't being as talkie tonight, maybe because of her hospital visit.i decided to just brush it off. After eating, we decided to walk outside since it was nice. I wanted to hold her hand. Her hand was quite sweaty, tho. We still weren't talking, but I don't mind it. we can just enjoy each other's presence. My thoughts wondered for a bit. I started to think back as to why she did that "cut it off" gesture she made to our friends. That didn't seem like something Chloe would do. Why didn't she want me to know what a hospital was? Hmm, I feel like something is off. But I don't want to assume the worst for now. I notice her starting to breathe heavily beside me.
