Red pov:
I can't believe I joined a club and won a contest the day after.... all cause I forgot to bring my painting back to my dorm. Chloe didn't even know I snuck out that night, but she didn't seem angry about it. Heck, I was expecting her to get mad or worried, but no, she was just proud of me for winning. We told our friends about it, and they seemed amused by the fact that I was able to paint that well. I kept having to explain that when you're an isolated princess with nothing to do but paint well, you kinda get good at it. Many years of "practice" does show..... I never really thought about it being a big deal since my mom barely glanced twice at them. She only really encouraged me to because I was less trouble when I did. At least, she thought. It was Sunday morning, and I'm sitting eating breakfast with my friends as usual, usually when I saw a taller red figure walk in the cafeteria.
Red: mom? What are you doing here?
She looks at me puzzled.
QoH: Can't I visit my dear daughter on the weekend?
I playfully scoffed.
Red: I mean you can, but I wasn't expecting you here.... why are you here?
QoH: Uma called me
Red: Of course she did.
I say as I oinch the bridge of my nose, shaking my head.
QoH: she told me my daughter is an impeccable artist.... I came here to see it.
Red: You just came here to see my art?
QoH: What is that not a good enough reason to see my lovely child whom I love?
Red: I guess.
I walked closer to her and gave her a big hug. I then led her to the painting that was hung on the wall near the entrance of the school. My mom gasped at the sight of it. I was standing a little behind her, for a brief moment I was expecting her to be like the mother who raised me and be disappointed. This was not the case. She was shaming her fists, then turned around.
QoH: You made this? It's so beautiful.
Chloe: Thanks, Queen of hearts.
Chloe comes and stands behind me. Her presence kinda spooked me.
QoH: Well, of course Chloe, you're a very beautiful young lady.... I can see why my daughter fell for you.
Red: mom, not now.
I whined. My mom rolled her eyes as chloe giggled at my moms comment. Chloe gives me a reassuring look that practically spelled out, "Don't be rude to your mother. This is how she shows her love." To which I gave her a look back like "fine, I'll back off it. " Soon, my mom faced us again after looking at the painting.
QoH: I must have some of your art hung in the palace back home.
Red: You really want my artwork?
QoH: it'll make all the walls in Wonderland that much more beautiful.... but only if you want to, sweetie.
She then waits for my response, reading my face as I think for a moment.
Red: Sure, I don't mind....
I smile.
Red: If you tell me what you want, I can try to make something for you.
QoH: Hmm, how about a lovely portrait with the two of us. I'd love to see that.
Red: Sure, I'll get working on that when I get the chance.
So I ended up spending my morning with my mom, we went out shopping and got donuts, which is like a tiny cake thing sorta. Was very delicious. Once back at school, I asked the arts teacher if I could get a few canvases for my mom's paintings she wanted me to do. She gave me 3, and I headed off to my dorm to start one.
