Part 42 - Childhood

Red pov:

Yesterday, Chloe asked me out on a date as a way to strengthen our relationship, which Audrey told us we should try. I don't know what he has planned, I'm guessing it's gonna be about getting to know each other more. I'm down to learn more about Chloe Charming. Every time I went to Audrey for help, she just asked the right questions. She's not judged or anything, too. It's like she can read my mind. I'm getting ready for our date. Chloe asked me to wear someone comfortable and casual. I got her a box of chocolates a blue flower. Once she got back to our dorm. I got up from my bed and handed her the flower and chocolates.

Chloe: Awe, why thanks you, Red, that's very sweet of you.

She leans over kissing my cheek. I couldn't help but smile.

Chloe: Are you ready for our date?

I nod as Chloe leads me to the forest. It was a different spot than before.  It was right after school, so we had a lot of time to do whatever Chloe had planned. Once at the spot. We put down our picnic basket, and Chloe asked me to follow her. I take her hand as she brings be further in the forest. I could hear faint water moving. It got louder as we got closer to it. I then saw a huge waterfall. It was beautiful.

Chloe: Do you like it?

Red: I love it.

My eyes just glowed at the sight, I've never seen anything like this. I see Chloe take a seat.

Chloe: imma just sit here for a moment. Let me know when you're ready to head back.

I got closer and touched the water. I never thought water could feel so soft. After a few more minutes of just enjoying this wonderful view, I walked back to Chloe.

Red: I'm hungry. Can we go back? 

She got up, and we headed back. Once back at our spot. I helped Chloe get the blanket placed while Chloe was getting things out of the basket.

Red: What's that?

I gestured to the food.

Chloe: This is pie, it's for dessert. First, we gotta eat supper.  We got some deviled eggs and some Greek salad.  First we eat, then we'll do my idea, ok?

Red: For sure.

After eating the delicious food. Chloe got me a slide of pie. I think it was blueberry flavored. It was really good. The warm blueberries melting in my mouth. After a handful of minutes more.

Chloe: ok, now that we are done eating, are you ready to hear my idea?

Red: yes Chloe I've been waiting all day to hear it.

Chloe: ok, I won't make you wait longer.

She giggled before clearing her throat and then putting on a more serious face.

Chloe: u would like us to try something, we don't have to do it.... but I want us to ask each other any questions we can think of, no matter how personal it may be.  Because of our promise, we can't even lie, so I figured this would be a good opportunity to let us speak our hearts out. What do you say?

Red: I'm down. Who starts, tho?

Chloe: Do you want to start?

Red: ok, let me think one second.....

Red: Do you see yourself as a perfect princess?

I can see Chloe inpressed with my question.

Chloe: I used to. Before I met you, I thought everything was perfect. My parents made me believe that. But meeting you, I learned that no one is perfect, no matter how hard you may try to be. You showed me a side of this world I never knew existed. Going to Merlin with you opened up my eyes and mind, and I love it now. Life feels less artificial. You could say it feels more real now.
