Part 41 - Getting Closer

Chloe pov:

We're back in our time. That whole entire adventure was wild. It was crazy to me, but for Red, it was probably 10 times more. I forgot we left at lunchtime, so we had to go to class. During the entire last few classes I was noticing Red beside me acting a little off. I tried to hold her hand to ease her nerves.  We were both deep in our thoughts.

Teacher: Red, Chloe, are you guys paying attention?

I felt a nudge from another classmate. I snapped out of it, I nudged Red, and she also snapped out of it.

Red: I'm fine! 

She looks around, forgetting where she is. I lean forward, tilting my head and making sure she can see me.

Chloe: Red, are you ok?

Red: Chloe, I literally saw my future self try to behead her own children. What do you think?

She kinda snaps at me. Everyone in class heard. But Red didn't seem to care what anyone thought. I gotta admit I like that about Red. She isn't afraid to speak her mind no matter who's present.

Teacher: Do you girls want to go see Audrey?

Red nods, avoiding eye contact with anyone. We got up and headed. Once at the office, we knock.

Aufrey: Come in!

Red opens the door and goes and sits without saying a word. I follow after.

Chloe: Hey Audrey.

Audrey: I heard something happened?

Chloe: Yeah, it's a very heavy subject this time.

Audrey: Well, that's what I'm here for. I'm ready to listen whenever you guys are.

I kept quiet. This is something Red should be the one to talk about since it's about her more. After a few moments of silence, Red finally spoke up.

(TIME SKIP IF U WANT)

Red: we decided to press on the watch... just to see where it would bring us. It was not anything we expected. We met 2 teens who are our daughters.... they were scared of me, I didn't know why until they told me that Chloe and I divorced in the future. The reason why they were scared of me was because I became just like my mom.... I even killed the woman.

Red shed a tear and wipes it. I then rub her back gently, still staying silent.

Red: I became depressed and angry. We went to go see my future self in hopes of answers. Walled in on her, trying to behead her own children. I ran to her and jumped and kicked her right on the floor away from the kids. It was pure adrenaline. We argued but then learned that she just wanted Chloe back. So we fixed it. We got the family back together..... but those kids won't ever see their grandmother again.

Red hard swallowed a few more tears running down her cheeks.

(TIME SKIP END)

Audrey: Wow, that is a lot. From what I gathered, you seem to be mainly worried about 3 main things. Let me know if I got these right. 1. You might lose Chloe in the future. 2. That those kids won't ever get to see their grandma, and 3. Most importantly, that's even not wanting to you still became like your mother. Are those correct.

Red: Yes, all 3. What do I do?

Red looks up at Audrey with a pleading tone in her voice and a scared facial expression.

Audrey: Well, how long did you take to process everything after you came back?

Red: none, we just got back and had to go to class.
