You paced across the library in the bunker, glancing at the clock every few seconds or so. Thoughts of the past year swirled in your mind.

FLASHBACK
"Y/n, Dean!" Sam greeted you happily at the hospital. "Where were you?"

Dean shot you an anxious look and you turned away.

"We were at the coffee place down towards the end of the hospital. We came as fast as we could once we heard you were awake." The lie was heavy in Dean's voice. You glanced back at Sam, he looked as if he knew Dean was lying too. Finally, you heard him sigh.

"How long was I out?"

"About a day," you spoke up. "The werewolf mauled you right before I shot him. Once I got to you, you were already unconscious. I drove you here right away."

"I remember being clawed, I also remember having deep wounds." Sam reached up and touched his chest. "If I did get that badly injured I would be able to feel the marks."

Sam raised an eyebrow, you inched closer to Dean.

"Alright, who did it?" You could hear the emotions in Sam's voice, but you didn't dare meet his heavy gaze.

There was a silence that seemed to last an eternity.

"I did," your voice wavered. "I have one year."

FLASHBACK OVER

The next few days after Sam got out of the hospital with Dean were rough. It was hard for you to forgive him, it was hard for him to forgive you. But, you still loved him. Eventually things almost got back to 'normal.'

Over the year, Dean spent as much time as he could with you. He spent nights researching ways to break the deal, even if he learned that deals couldn't be reversed from his own experience.

FLASHBACK

"Just stop, Dean."

"I can't, Y/n!"

"You know the deal can't be reversed, remember when you made one?"

"That deal was controlled under Lillith."

"And this one is held in Crowley's hands. The King of Hell!"

Dean slammed the book in his hands shut and pulled out another. "Please, just come with me to bed. You need sleep."

"I will not rest until this deal is broken. It is my fault. I pushed you into making the deal so, I'm going to get you out of it."

"I forgive you, Dean! I love you! But you must know this is a lost cause." You stepped forwards and put your hand on Dean's shoulder, he sank into your touch. He then stood and you saw his tear streaked face. He rested his forehead against yours. "There are always the angels."

FLASHBACK OVER

You and Dean talked to Cas and Gabriel, they both told you that it was not easy to go into Hell and bring someone up.

FLASHBACK
"They will be ready, and waiting." Castiel turned to you. "After me bringing up both Sam and Dean they will be expecting me to save you."

"What about you, Gabe?" Dean gave a pleading look to Gabriel.

"They will be expecting any angel, not just Castiel," Gabe responded. "I could try, but that could end up badly. Even as an archangel, I can't just barge into Hell. Castiel needed help the first time, the second was just luck. A third?"

"You have to do something!" Dean argued.

"Our options are limited." Cas sighed, his face blank of emotions, as usual. "But we can see what we can do when the time comes."

"You can't even break the deal?" you finally spoke up.

"No." And then the angels were gone.
FLASHBACK OVER

Sending one last look at the clock, you saw it was 11:59. You had one minute left.

"Y/n." Dean walked over to you and wrapped his arms around your waist. "I love you and I'm so sorry."

"It's okay, Dean." You felt a tear drip down your cheek. You tilted your head up and gave him a soft kiss.

You never wanted the kiss to end. But then the chime of the clock rang around the library. You stepped away from Dean, holding onto his hand. You heard barking and soon the door shook with the force of many paws.

You glanced over to Sam, who also looked tearful. He too, had spent many nights researching to save you.

"Don't stop hunting." You looked over to Dean. "Don't ever forget that I love you."

He nodded.

"Go. I don't want you to see this." You were shaking, fear now coursing through you. Sam nodded and walked over to you, wrapping you into a hug. He walked to a door that wasn't being torn up by hellhounds.

"I'm not going to leave you, Y/n. It's my fault, at least let me be with you." Dean's grip on your hand tightened.

"I love you, Dean." You gave him one last kiss then yanked your hand from his, shoving him to the door Sam was standing at. Sam gave you a somber look and wrestled his brother out and shut the door behind him.

You took a deep breath and braced yourself.

Then the door burst open.
