Trigger Warning: Torture
FLASHBACK
You stared in shock as the heartbeat of your boyfriend, Sam, started slowing. Dean paced across the hospital room, silent tears flowing down his face. The hunt had gone fatally wrong, no one was left without wounds but Sam's wounds were by far the worst.
You knew what you had to do.
You drove quickly to the crossroads and quickly buried the summoning box for crossroad demons.
"Y/n." A voice sounded behind you, you slowly turned around. You gasped, you thought you would run into someone like Crowley... But not Lucifer himself!
"Lucifer."
"So you want to make a deal."
"I want you to save Sam, I can give you my soul in return." You stood stiffly in front of the fallen angel.
"Deal." You hadn't expected the deal to be made so quick, at least you could get back before Dean realized you weren't on a 'coffee run.' "Seal it with a kiss sweetheart?"
"Wait, how long do I get?"
"A year, the usual for all hunters." You stepped forwards and pressed your lips against Lucifer's, pulling away as quickly as possible. "Sam should be waking up soon." He smirked at you. "See you in a year."
Satan was gone in the blink of an eye, leaving you in the abandoned crossroads. You sighed, blinking back tears, had you really sold your soul?
FLASHBACK OVER
You yelled in agony as Lucifer dragged a blade down your stomach. Your blood dripped down and fall into a dark abyss.
"I'm glad I got the pleasure of torturing you myself, you were such a pain in the ass on Earth." Lucifer grinned at you. "I know how to make everything worse here in Hell though." He ripped on of your fingernails off and you bit back a scream as the excruciating pain throbbed throughout your body.
You were shredded. No other way to put it, shredded.
"It was a shame, really. The way you had to leave. The way your dear Sammy reacted to you selling your soul."
You blinked back the tears forming at the memory.
FLASHBACK
"You sold your soul?" Sam screeched at you. "God, you're so stupid!"Would you rather still be laying there, close to death, and have Dean sell his soul instead of me, again?" You started raising your voice.
"I'm not worth being saved!" There were tears in his eyes.
"You're worth it to me," you snapped.
"No. Just go. Leave already."
"What?"
"Go Y/n! Don't come back. This way it will be easier for the both of us." You took a step forwards but he turned his back on you. Anger built up within you.
"Fine." You stormed up the stairs and out the bunker, slamming the door behind you. You got into you car and drove, only stopping for gas or a place to sleep.
FLASHBACK OVER
"I hate you," you muttered, tears thick in your voice.
"Who doesn't?" Lucifer smirked, hitting your leg with a hammer.
A year had passed up on Earth before a light broke through in Hell. You felt a hand grip your arm and pull you upwards, taking you away from Hell.
You stumbled to regain your footing. You woke up in the morgue of San Diego, the place where the hellhounds caught you and ripped you to shreds.
You passed through the city and ignored the cross looks you got for your shredded clothing. You found your car in the junkyard, looking surprisingly okay. Just needed a few repairs, but you got it going.
You started driving again, retracing the route you took while leaving Sam. Maybe he would be happy if he saw you were alive. Though, it had been two years since you had seen the Winchesters. Did Sam even still love you? Had he moved on?
In about a week and a half you found yourself staring at the bunker. Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all. Sam did ask you to never come back...
"Y/n!" You turned around to see Dean running towards you.
"Dean!" You hid your expression with a smile. Then he stopped and splashed you with holy water. You let out a huff. "Relax Dean, I'm not a demon, ghost, or a shifter." You dragged a silver knife across your palm, then rolled up your sleeve to reveal a burn make in the shape of a handprint on your arm. "I think Cas saved me."
"Y/n, you have to leave," Dean sighed.
"What- Why? I was thinking it wasn't a good idea but-"
"Sam's changed since when you were gone. Drinking more alcohol and bringing girls home. Seeing you, he might snap again."
"Dean-"
"Y/n, I don't want you to leave, but this is for Sam's benefit."
You bit back tears. You knew this wasn't a good idea. But, Sam didn't leave you at a good note. All the yelling, crying, then him asking you to never come back.
"Okay. This will be our secret Dean."
"I wasn't going to tell Sam anyways." You stepped back to your car, getting in then rolling down the window.
"See you around?"
"Perhaps, good luck."
"You too." You stepped on the gas pedal and left.
