"The human body has 7 trillion nerves and some people manage to get on every single fucking one of them."
Y/n's Pov:
He wasn't acting like himself at all. I say this because, while rummaging through the drawers, I stumbled upon some medical reports—related to his mental health, I didn't bother to read them as my eyes fell on the photograph. It had been hours since I found myself tied to this chair, and every muscle in my body ached with discomfort. I had lost track of time, not knowing whether it was day or night.
The darkness of the room wrapping around me like a heavy blanket. The dead bodies hanging before me no longer frightened me, I had grown numb to their sight. They had become little more than a grotesque backdrop to my own dire situation. But the stench was unbearable, a suffocating blend of decay that made my stomach churn. I was empty inside; there was nothing left in my stomach to even vomit.
With my head hung low, tiredness washed over me, making my eyelids droop. Just as the drowsiness threatened to pull me into deep sleep, the door creaked open. I looked up, half-expecting to see a human. Instead, it was him- a monster. There he was again, and a heavy sigh escaped my lips at the sight of him. I noticed the plate in his hand, filled with food.
But what truly caught me off guard was the shocked expression on his face which only deepened my confusion. His expression was one of shock, as if he had just remembered something important. He placed the plate on the empty table, then knelt beside me, getting to my eye level.
Jin-hyuk: I'm really sorry for keeping you here. I lost track of time. Just wait a moment, let me take you to the bedroom. You must be exhausted. You can have your dinner there and get some rest.
He said softly, I blinked in disbelief, taken aback by his sudden kindness. What was happening? I was so stunned that I couldn't think straight. He untied my wrists, and I rubbed the sore skin where the rope had bitten into me. Jin-hyuk gently grasped my hand and helped me to my feet. I couldn't tear my eyes away from him, confusion knotting in my stomach.
Y/: Why are you doing this?............ What's happening to you?
He didn't reply, and kept on walking dragging me with him slowly. I could see the conflict etched across his features. In that moment, there were fragments of the caring person I once knew buried beneath layers of distress.
