Taehyung sat in his study, consumed by thoughts of you. Months had passed since he last saw you—the last time was when you both argued and decided to part ways. Yet, it felt like years since he had truly felt whole. The sensation of missing someone so deeply gnawed at him, leaving an emptiness he couldn't ignore. He hated himself for it.
He tried to bury himself in work, to distract himself from the thoughts of your laughter, your smile, and even the way you challenged him like no one else ever dared to. Yet, the harder he tried, the more vivid your memory became. He loved and hated you at the same time.
His feelings for you weren't sudden. They had crept up on him slowly, quietly. At first, he'd dismissed them as fleeting admiration. But over time, those feelings grew into something he couldn't deny. And just when he was finally ready to let you in, to give his heart to you fully—you betrayed him. The memory of that betrayal burned like fire in his chest. You had used his trust, his vulnerability, and worse, his sister, Sun-hee.
Taehyung let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair. He wanted to hate you. He needed to hate you. But his heart refused to comply. No matter how much he tried to push you out of his thoughts, you always found a way to creep back in.
The knock on the door snapped him out of his spiral. "Come in," he said, his voice clipped, not wanting to sound as lost as he felt.
The door opened, and Sun-hee entered, wheeling herself into the room with her loyal companion, a small dog perched on her lap. The dog's tail wagged excitedly as he spotted Taehyung, immediately leaping down and running to him. Taehyung bent down to pick him up, placing the dog gently on his lap. Sun-hee smiled faintly.
Sun-hee: He surely loves you more than me.
Taehyung: He's just smart enough to know who spoils him the most.
Taehyung's lips quirked into a small smile. Sun-hee's smile didn't waver, but there was a hesitation in her eyes. He noticed it immediately.
Taehyung: So, what brings you here, Sun-hee?
She fiddled with the hem of the blanket that covered her lap, unsure if she should continue. Finally, after a moment of doubt, she spoke.
Sun-hee: I wanted to ask about someone.
Taehyung: And who might that be?
Sun-hee: Y/n.
Taehyung: Y/n? You mean the woman who put you in danger?
Taehyung raised a brow. She nodded, not backing down despite the obvious tension. His expression hardened instantly, his jaw tightening. Taehyung placed the dog gently back on the ground, his hands curling into fists on the desk.
