"The truth is still the truth, even if no one believes it. A lie is still a lie, even if everyone believes it."
Author's Pov:
Taehyung's heart thudded loudly in his chest, a mix of disbelief, relief, and frustration washing over him all at once. He stared at you, the woman he had been tirelessly searching for across the country, only to find you here, standing in front of him.
For a moment, he didn't know what to do or say. His breath hitched, and his fingers curled tightly around the edge of the table. It felt surreal—almost like a cruel trick fate had played on him. After years of longing, hoping, and aching for just a glimpse of you, here you were, standing in the soft glow of the restaurant's warm light, wearing an apron and holding a notepad like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Y/n: What would you like to order?
Luna: White sauce pasta and a glass of red wine.....
Y/n: And for you...... sir?
Taehyung (internally): You've been here all along? Working in this place while I tore myself apart looking for you?
Luna: Taehyung....What will you have?
His jaw clenched as emotions warred within him—relief at finally finding you, anger at the years of silence, and a deep yearning that no amount of distance or time could erase. Eunha, oblivious to the tension, giggled and babbled in her high chair, slapping her tiny hands against the table. Her joyful sounds only heightened the intensity of the moment.
Luna: (sigh) He'll have the steak, medium-rare, and a glass of whisky, neat.
Y/n: Thank you, I'll let the kitchen know. Your food will be out shortly.
Taehyung's gaze remained fixed on you as you turned and walked away, the soft click of your shoes against the floor fading into the warm hum of the restaurant. His heart was pounding, his mind racing with unspoken words and unresolved emotions. He clenched his fists under the table, struggling to steady his breath.
Luna watched him with a mix of curiosity and amusement, her head tilting as she observed his unusually tense demeanor.
Luna: Okay, what's with the brooding? Do you know her or something?
Taehyung's jaw tightened, and he looked away, trying to compose himself.
Taehyung: It's none of your concern, Luna.
She raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by his curt response.
Luna: Touchy, aren't we? Relax, I'm just asking. But judging by the way you're acting, I'd say she's not just a random waitress.
Before Taehyung could retort, Eunha's giggles broke the tension. She clapped her little hands and babbled happily, her innocent energy pulling him back to reality for a moment. He reached out to gently brush her soft curls, but his mind was still preoccupied.
