perfect for you

Taylor's POV

I don't even know why I agreed to this party. Well, yes, I do. My best friend, Abby, practically begged me to come. She'd been talking about it for weeks, about how her brother's friends were all coming over, and how it would be "so much fun." But the one person I really didn't want to run into was Travis Kelce.

Ugh, Travis.

I know him from school, and I've hated him for as long as I can remember. He's loud, obnoxious, and somehow always manages to get under my skin in ways I never thought possible. The way he acts like he owns the place, cracking jokes that aren't funny, and flirting with every girl in sight just to prove he can. It drives me crazy.

"Taylor!" Abby says, pulling me into the living room. "You're not even trying to enjoy yourself! Look, there's Travis!"

I try not to groan, but it comes out anyway. I roll my eyes and pretend I didn't hear her.

"Isn't he just... perfect for you?" Abby teases, winking.

I turn to face her, but I'm distracted by Travis standing by the snack table, laughing loudly with his friends. Of course he's laughing. Why wouldn't he be? He thinks he's hilarious.

"Perfect? You're kidding, right?" I respond, my voice sharp. "He's literally the most annoying person I know."

Abby raises an eyebrow. "Oh, come on. You've got to admit, he's pretty cute."

I shake my head, unwilling to even entertain the idea. "Cute? He's infuriating."

She's about to say something else, but just as she opens her mouth, Travis turns around and spots us. He smiles, that smug, irritating smile that makes my blood boil.

"Taylor!" he says, striding over with that cocky swagger that makes me want to smack him. "How's the most serious person in the room doing?"

I stare at him, arms crossed. "What do you want, Travis?"

"Just thought I'd check in on my favorite person," he says, his grin widening. "You don't look like you're having much fun. Are you bored already?"

I open my mouth to respond, but Abby steps in before I can. "Come on, Taylor. Just have some fun tonight. Who knows? Maybe you'll stop being so grumpy around Travis for once."

I'm about to say something snarky when Travis cuts in. "Grumpy? Nah, she's just trying to act all serious to make up for the fact she secretly loves all this attention."

My eyes narrow at him. "You wish."

He chuckles, leaning a little too close for comfort. "I don't have to wish for anything. It's pretty obvious."

I want to punch him, but I stop myself. Instead, I roll my eyes and turn away, deciding to walk off and get some space.

As I make my way through the crowd, I try to ignore the fact that Travis is following me. He's always following me, always trying to get a rise out of me.

I grab a drink and stand near the back, hoping the party will calm down a bit. But of course, Travis finds me again.

"Really? Trying to hide from me now?" he asks, leaning against the counter, his eyes glinting mischievously.

I sigh. "I'm not hiding from you. Just trying to have a moment of peace."

He laughs, clearly not taking me seriously. "Peace? Come on, Taylor, you can't be that uptight all the time."

"I'm not uptight," I say, though my words come out sharper than I intend. "I just don't enjoy being surrounded by people who think they're funny when they're not."
