Travis's POV
The club is alive, a pulsating heartbeat of lights and music. I walk through the entrance, the bass reverberating in my chest, the energy in the air electric. But all that fades the second my eyes land on her. Taylor.
She's standing near the bar, a radiant vision in a black dress that clings to her in all the right places, her platinum blonde hair falling in soft waves around her face. She looks like she was meant to be here, moving effortlessly through the chaos of the club. But when she sees me, her eyes light up, and I feel like she's the only thing in the room. It's like the whole place could be empty, and it wouldn't matter as long as I'm looking at her.
I make my way over, sidestepping people on the dance floor, my heart pounding a little faster with every step I take closer to her. When I finally reach her, she's talking to her friends, Selena and Sabrina, who seem to be engaged in some animated conversation, laughing and teasing each other. But when they spot me, both of them give me a quick once-over before exchanging glances.
"Well, well, look who finally decided to join us," Selena says with a sly grin, her eyes twinkling mischievously.
Sabrina doesn't hold back either. "Yeah, what took you so long? Were you busy admiring the view from across the room or something?" she teases, her words blunt but playful. I laugh at her directness, it's one of the things I like about her. Sabrina doesn't sugarcoat anything.
Taylor gives me a smile, as if to apologize for her friends' sharp tongues. "Don't mind them," she says, her voice sweet. "They're just trying to make you feel like you're not the only one staring."
I chuckle, looking around at her friends. "It's hard not to stare when you look like that." My words are low, just for her, and I catch the faintest blush spreading across her cheeks, making me grin even wider.
Before she can reply, Selena cuts in. "So, are you going to get us drinks, or are we just going to stand here and admire your ability to move through a crowd like it's nothing?" Her tone is teasing, but there's a warmth behind it.
I raise an eyebrow, turning my attention back to Taylor. "What do you want?" I ask her, ignoring Selena's playful demands for a moment.
"I'll have a whiskey sour," she says, her eyes glinting with mischief. "Make it strong." She winks at me, and my stomach tightens in response. I've learned that when Taylor asks for something with that glint in her eye, she's not just talking about the drink.
"Whiskey sour," I repeat, nodding, and then I look at Selena and Sabrina. "What about you guys?"
"I'll take a vodka tonic," Selena says without hesitation, "and make it quick. You know how I get when I don't have a drink in hand." She laughs, and I nod in understanding.
Sabrina's eyes glint, her lips curling into a smirk. "I'll have a gin and tonic, but add an extra shot of gin. Maybe two. I need something to match this crowd's energy." She says it so seriously that I can't help but laugh.
"Coming right up," I say, giving them a wink before heading to the bar.
The bartender is quick to serve me, and in a few minutes, I'm back at the table with their drinks, handing them over. I take a seat next to Taylor, my leg brushing against hers, and the connection is instant—like a spark that runs through both of us.
Sabrina immediately raises her glass to me, a mischievous smile tugging at her lips. "You know, I'm not sure if you know this," she begins, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "but you're kind of a big deal. Like, you're everywhere. TV. News. Twitter. And then you show up at a club with her. I mean, she's literally glowing, and it's not from the lights. Are you planning to make a public appearance every time she steps foot out the door now?"
