Viya had a new feeling in her chest. Instead of her usual anger, something else had replaced it—a feeling she did not like.
After she had seen the grievers storming the glade, she knew that she couldn't keep to herself anymore, she needed answers, and there was only one person who could give her those answers.
Minho.
She had spent hours staring up at her ceiling trying to figure out another solution, but her mind hadn't been able to think of anything. She had to go to Minho.
Ironically, she had been the one to tell him that he would never think about her again, yet here she was searching for him.
She didn't know if she'd even find him, chances were that he wouldn't come out into the maze after what happened last night, but she had to try.
Viya waited close by section five, she knew that if he would run today, he'd come here. She leaned on the wall, she let her thoughts wander, but she still made sure to listen for the sound of footsteps.
She dreaded talking to Minho, but he was the only one she could talk to. She could talk to Thomas, but truth be told, she didn't like the kid that much. He asked too many questions, and she had this feeling about him.
Viya could hear footsteps fast approaching, she took a quick glance around the corner, and sure enough, there was Minho jogging through the maze.
She waited until he was about a foot in front of her, and luckily he didn't spot Viya. Viya swiftly grabbed the back of Minho's running vest and dragged him farther into the dead end.
"What-! Viya? What do you-"
"Oh shut up!" Viya said sassily as she threw him against the wall. "I want answers. Now.""Answers? About what?" Minho questioned as he stood up straight again.
"What do you think, dumbass?" Viya grumbled, "Why the maze started literally falling apart and why the doors didn't close.""How do you know about all that?"
"Oh please, I know everything that goes on in this hellhole."
"I genuinely don't know, Viya." Minho said, "Shits been going crazy since..." Minho's voice trailed off."Since what?"
Minho stayed silent.
"Since what, Minho?" Viya repeated.
Minho sighed, "Since the greenie came up."
Viya paused."Ever since Thomas came up–"
"Thomas?"
"Yeah, oh wait," Minho realized, "Yeah, Thomas is the greenie."
For some odd reason, suspicion started to grow in Viya's stomach, she didn't know why, but something about Thomas really seemed off."Has anything else been going on that's weird?" Viya questioned.
"Yeah–" Minho paused, not sure if he should say it.
"Spit it out." The girl directed.
"Well...another girl came up." Minho admitted.
"Oh." Viya said.
Truthfully, Viya didn't know how that information affected her, if anything, she just hoped the poor girl would be okay.
The pair stood in silence for a while, Minho contemplated leaving, but he knew that Viya would keep him here until she was done with him.
Eventually, Minho found the courage to speak up. "We think we've found a way out."
Minho's words immediately snapped Viya out of her trance. She looked up at him, her brown eyes glowing with curiosity.
