Hot water trickled down Viya's body for the first time in years. In the glade they had showers, but the water was always freezing. In the maze she had tried to wash herself with just a cloth, but experiencing a shower was a whole different thing. Viya took her time shampooing her hair and scrubbing her entire body. Steam rose up into the air and Viya wished she could stay there forever.

The bathrooms were set up into eight stalls that had showers on the inside, only two of the stalls were occupied.

When she was eventually done, she grabbed the towel she had set out for herself and started drying herself.

Viya dried her hair and brushed it back into a low ponytail. Viya's backpack was plopped down on a bench right next to the clothes that had been laid out for her. Viya went to grab a shirt when she paused, the shirt was grey. Viya stared at the grey piece of fabric, it was just a shirt, right?
Viya wrapped her towel around her body and knocked on the main door.

"I'm not wearing this." She yelled through the door.

A woman gently opened the door, she peaked her head in and looked Viya up and down.

"Why not?" The lady asked.

"It's grey." Viya said.

"And?"
"I don't wear grey."

"Well you better get used to it."

"I'm not wearing it." Viya repeated.

The woman rolled her eyes, "Fine, I'll see what I can find you."
Viya smiled slightly as she handed the grey shirt to the woman.

A few minutes later the woman came back holding a dark purple shirt, "Will this do?" She asked.

Viya nodded as she took the shirt. The woman glared at Viya as the teen walked the other way.

Once Viya was done changing, she exited the bathroom swiftly. She wore her purple long sleeved shirt with a pair of black cargo pants. Her outfit greatly contrasted her tattered backpack from the maze. The woman didn't say a word to Viya, she only spoke once Teresa came out, and the pair was silently led to their room.

The door unlocked as the woman swiped her keycard, she gave Viya and Teresa a little shove, and once they were fully inside of the room, she slammed the door behind them.

Viya looked Teresa up and down, this was her replacement. The girl looked to be about the same age as Viya, maybe a little younger, but she looked much better than Viya did. Teresa's hair was neat and straight, the shower had not made much of a difference as the girl had always looked clean in comparison to Viya. She also held herself differently, her posture was straight and her resting face had a slight smile to it. Viya couldn't help but be a little jealous.

Viya turned her attention to the room, four sets of bunk beds were placed around the room, there was a small sink and a door that presumably led to a toilet. The lights were the same fluorescent white as the rest of the building, the room was mainly made of cement–a sight that Viya hated–and the roof looked like it was covered in shiny tinfoil tiles.

Soon night was upon them, the lights had automatically dimmed, giving the girls a good idea of the time. No words had been spoken between them, the room had stayed completely silent. Viya didn't mind it though, she wasn't sure what she would talk about with Teresa anyways, and clearly, Teresa did not want to talk with Viya.

Night had passed faster than Viya expected, she had slept like a rock in her bed that was actually a bed.

She was already awake when the same woman from before came knocking on their door. She told them that they had to get a health check before anything else could happen, Viya accepted this answer.
