"You can see me?"
A simple yes or no question, right?
What's the harm in answering that?
But Wonwoo knew better. More like—he's seen enough movies to remember where that exact line was commonly used.
So with that knowledge in his head, Wonwoo kept walking. Eyes looking past, through this male stranger that had somewhat floated right in front of him. Wonwoo didn't freak out. All his life he was stoic. Good at hiding his emotions well. Even if he was freaking out on the inside, he never showed that on his face.
"Huh? Must be the breeze," Wonwoo mumbled under his breath, making sure it was just loud enough for the other man to hear.
The same man that was still hovering right next to him, drilling holes right at the side of his face.
"That's odd. I could've sworn he saw me earlier," the man said, tilting his head as he kept following Wonwoo, who still refused to acknowledge his existence.
Wonwoo went on along his route, the usual way to his campus. It was still early. The sun hadn't even entirely risen yet. Most would dread being up this early, but Wonwoo enjoyed it. He liked the peacefulness of it. The way he could take his time to get things done and get to the place he needed to be with no rush. It was his way of readying himself for another grueling day of lectures and labs.
Well, that was the plan.
Right now, however, Wonwoo had found himself practically speed walking towards the large building, sprinting past the guards and then into his department. That same strange man still following him, asking questions to himself, thinking Wonwoo hadn't heard a single thing.
"Why can't anyone see me? Am I going to be stuck like this forever?" His voice had gotten wearier, a chuckle escaping him for a while before it died down seconds later, a clear frown on his face. The expression Wonwoo never really saw, as he still hadn't turned to face the man, afraid that if he did, he might accidentally meet him eye to eye again and would have to really acknowledge the fact that he could see him.
Him as in someone who can't be seen by others.
Him as in someone who's literally floating across the campus right next to him.
Him as in someone who's pale.
Him as in...
a ghost.
Ignoring him would be the best solution for now. Luckily for Wonwoo, he wasn't really scared of ghosts. Atleast, not to this one. Compared to the ghosts he's seen in horror movies, this man hovering right beside him looked pretty good-looking. If his feet weren't just floating four inches above the ground, you couldn't really even tell he was a wandering soul.
Taking his things out, Wonwoo decided to immerse himself in his lab work the moment he got inside the room. He arranged his things, doing his best not to turn around or move his neck a little too much to the side, just in case the ghost might be staring right at him.
It was working well—till it didn't.
"Ahhhhhhh!!!"
Not till the ghost decided to just float his way past through Wonwoo's computer screen. His face literally just staring right at the poor man, screaming his head off as he physically couldn't pry his eyes away from what he was seeing right at that second.
