(Hort's new outfit. And honestly, I don't think I'm that good at drawing Hort, but he turned out pretty cute this time.)

"Hey, look at that," Y/n said as they got to the top of the hill, where two plates waited for them. "How nice, they left us some leftovers."
"Why wouldn't they?" Hort asked. "How else would we get food? Seems pretty mean to me, considering how little they left. Probably Tedros who hogged it all to himself, considering Sophie barely eats."
"Well, I told Merlin I could make some food if I walked last, that way there would be enough for us all and I wouldn't be too exhausted," she said, sitting down in the tulip filled grass. "But I guess I don't need to make as much at least. The food is pretty cold though, so I can take it."
"What?" Hort sat down beside her. "Nuhu, no way! I don't want you to exhaust yourself for something you won't even eat" He shook his head.
"Oh, it's fine really," Y/n said. "It doesn't take that much energy to make a meal for one person, and I wouldn't want you to–" Hort took the two plates and downed the whole leftover pie given to them.
"Now make your own food, and don't make too little for yourself, you need to be nourished," he huffed, setting down the two plates.Y/n gave him a nervous smile and conjured up some f/f. "You know, you're a very caring person for being a Never," Y/n said. "Not that it's a bad thing. It's something I really like about you and the coven, even if the coven has their weird ways to express their care."
"Not too many saw me as much of a Never anyway...," said Hort, looking out at the sky, hugging his knees. " Always failed all the classes in school. Not to mention I'm a pirate, and only recently were they allowed in school, so teachers and students already stereotyped me as some agent of chaos who wasn't as sophisticated in the same way as a true Never. Nor did the pirates like me that much either, all saw me as weak and a waist of air. But–... but I'll show them."
"That's so funny," Y/n said with a chuckle, looking up at the sky too. "Because when I've thought of a Never, I never thought about Hester, nor Sophie. No, when I imagined a Never, I thought of you. Someone who could come off as a bit rude and sarcastic perhaps, and one that follows the rules of Evil and Good, but someone who was loyal, who was willing to work with others, and someone who is so hardworking, and someone who isn't afraid to say what he thinks and feels. That's what I like so much about you! You're not like the Evers, who use others as stepping stones for a goal, or hide away their emotions for some sort of mental game, and are afraid to ever say what they think. I love Agatha and Tedros and Sophie, but Sophie is the definition of playing the social game for her own game, and both Tedros and Agatha can sometimes be too afraid to tell me what they think or how they feel. But you don't do that, you always speak your mind, and you're honest and true. "Hort looked at her wide eyed for a moment, then looked away, catching the faint figures of Sophie and Tedros in the far away distance. Two people he had once tried to connect with in a way, but which had betrayed him in one way or another, because they had never truly liked him, never saw him for him. But Y/n did. She saw just who he was. And he remembered why he had been so obsessed with the girl those five months she had been gone. Why he had tried to put on a persona more like Tedros, even if that wasn't like him, because he wanted to impress her. But so far, it seemed that she liked the parts of him that weren't what he thought Tedros was at all.
"You made those fancy outfits for Tedros and Sophie, didn't you?" he asked. "You... um... you couldn't maybe make me one, could you?"
"Of course I can," Y/n said. "What do you want?"
"Oh, nothing special," he said, waving his hands. "Just whatever you want. Or whatever you think I would want I guess."
"Oh, okay," Y/n said. Her finger lit up in her iconic f/c and with a flick, Hort's clothes were different. Hort looked at them for a while, and honestly loved them. It reminded him of a bit of clothes his father could have worn. "I hope you like them. If you don't, I can change them–"
"No, I love them," Hort said. "Shame they'll break so often." It was meant as a joke, but it was also inevitable, considering his clothes always broke if he turned into a manwolf. But these days his pants at least survived the transformation.
"I'll make you new ones each time then," Y/n laughed. "I mean, if you love them so much, it would feel cruel to let them be destroyed."
"Thanks," he said. "Won't that get tiring though? You can't use too much magic."
"You mean my cubes?" she asked, taking up a bag of rainbow colored sugar cubes. "Barely need them anymore. The more I practice and the older I get, the stronger my magic is, and the less I need to recharge. With a bit more practice, I'll probably be able to use it freely, like Merlin."
"I see," Hort said. He then noticed something strange behind Y/n, in the far distance. "What's that?"
