"Arthur's blood?" What do you mean the snake had Arthur's blood!" Nicola blurted.

Y/n's mind was too occupied thinking of the note she had gotten from Tedros before all of this mess. It had said:
"I got to know of Chaddick's demise, Lady Gremlain told me. I understand why you didn't tell me anything, but I hope you know that whatever struggles you face, I want to hear of them. I just got to know what you're really doing on your quest, mother and Lance came back with Merlin and professor Dovey. I'm not happy you're out there, and if I had anything to do with it, I would want you to be here at the castle, but I know it will never be that easy with you, it's why I love you, you realize when you shouldn't listen to someone as thick headed as me. Jokes aside, you don't think the Snake could actually have my father's blood, do you? Please answer soon.

With all the love in the world and more: Tedros of Camelot.

(PS, gave Orion a few treats, hope that's okay.)"

So now he knew. In some ways she felt bad, she didn't want him to just sit there and worry for her, nor had she wanted to hear about Chaddick's death so soon. She had wished she could be there, to hold him in her arms as he cried. But in a way it felt good. Because now she could be fully honest with him, she didn't need to send letters of lies or simple messages. Not that much of it mattered truly in the situation they were in at the moment.

"Shh! They'll hear us!" Sophie snapped. "Y/n, Agatha, and I were having a private conversation–"
"Your voice is so screechy there's nothing private about it," Nicola sassed.
"You moldy little toadstool–"
"Is this really the time to be bickering?" Agatha hissed between them, before turning to Y/n right in front of Sophie. "You really think what she says is true?"
"I'm not sure yet," Y/n said, leaning her head against Orion on her shoulder. "But it's what she says."

The four girls were chained by the hands, one behind the other, with Bogden, Willam, Dot, Anadil, Hester, and Hort fixed on the same chain in lockstep ahead of them. Four teenage pirates in black leather, wielding curved swords, rode on horseback, two ahead, two behind, marshaling the prisoners through Jaunt Jolie, paved with yellow and pink bricks, hot under their feet from the broiling early autumn sun. Y/n could see townspeople peeping from houses, many with black eyes or gashed cheeks.
"This is an Ever kingdom. Why aren't they helping us?" Sophie whispered, tripping a bit as she was still in heels. "Aren't Evers supposed to rescue Good from the clutches of Evil?"
"You're not Good," Agatha grumbled, dripping sweat. "Plus, they're probably relieved it's not them. Also, can't you wear something that isn't heels?"
"Like your clumps? I rather not," Sophie huffed.
"This really isn't the time," Y/n said, voice sounding harsher than normal, no doubt because of the situation.

Sophie stumbled because of her heels again and a shirtless pirate smacked her hard with his horse reins. He couldn't have been more than their age, with a bony torso, a peeling sunburnt face, and nose broken in two places.
"Izzis what lasses look atta School for Evil? Pitty I ain't creepin' the halls, then," he chuckled leering down at Sophie, before his eyes wandered. "This one ain't too bad either, eh? A real treat." He got closer to Y/n, forcefully grabbing her cheek. "School Master passed my house on kidnappin' day. Musta though little old Wesley wouldn't turn out Evil enough. Too bad. Wouldav loved to meet princesses like this." He flashed snaggly teeth. "Bet ye smell like warm cherry pie."
"Well, you'll never know since this the closest you'll ever be to any female I would suspect," Y/n said, keeping calm and collected.

Wesley reddened and spat on her right in the face. "Wait 'till the Snake gets his hands on ye." He rode to join his fellow pirates ahead,
Y/n saw Sophie, Agatha, and Hort's fingers glowing. "Steady," she said. "We shouldn't do anything hasty in a situation like this."
"Dirty thugs. I could kill them all," Sophie fumed. "Even if I'm a bit out of practice."
"Oh, trust me," Hort muttered, who stood right in front of her. "I'll make sure they don't see sunlight again, those musty little–"
"They're taking us to the Snake. That's what matters," said Y/n.
