Dear Reader,

It has been ten years since Sophie, Y/n, and Agatha's tale began, and much has happened since then. If you read this fanfiction penned about them, then you know how they first fell into the School for Good and Evil, whom they faced, whom they fought, and what happened at The End. The story is never truly over, of course. Life continues in the Endless Woods and it is only a matter of time before the Storian chooses its next tale to tell. Whether the Pen will write more of Sophie, Y/n, and Agatha's story in the future, only it can know. In the meantime, I hope the following interview will answer questions you've been eager to ask and let you spend a little more time with some dear old friends...

Warmly,
Twinshift

THE CAMELOT COURIER

A Look Back at a Monumental Tale

The king sits opposite to me, dressed in a peacock-green doublet, his famous blue eyes flinty and clear. "How long is this going to take?" he asks.
His queen gives me a sympathetic smile. "He's wary of reporters," she explains as she pours me a cup of rosebud tea, using her famous magic skills, wearing a f/c dress suit with a white vest.
"Well, he's certainly been burned before," the advisor chuckles, drinking tea and careful not to spill on her own gray-silk dress.
"Well, that's why you two are here," the king says, turning to his queen. "To make sure this doesn't go sideways."
"That would require you to actually listen to their advice," the queen's knight butts in, sitting beside the king.
"Oh who invited you anyway, puffbag," the king scoffed. "This was supposed to be an interview for me."
"If I'm not mistaken, you're the one who ordered me to always be by her side," the knight said with a smug smile. "So I would suppose it's you who invited me. And I'm as much her husband as you are, so I have all the right in the world to spend time with my wife."
"You fight like two dogs," the queen said, shaking her head with a smile, she leaned closer to the king, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Just relax, everything will go smoothly."
This earns a grudging smile from the king. Then he wipes it away and stares hard at me. "So? What's your first question?"

It's safe to say King Tedros of Camelot is reluctant to talk to the press these days. Even when told that the Courier would be publishing a special retrospective about his years at the School for Good and Evil, he declined an interview. Invitations to Queen Y/n to tell us about her husband's time as a student were also rebuffed, with Advisor Agatha and Sir Hort, the king's liege and the queen's private knight, noting that the royal couple was far too busy running a kingdom to indulge in nostalgia. Only when informed that longtime friend School Master Sophie of Gavaldon had made herself available in their stead and would happily answer any questions about Tedros' stint at school did Camelot's king change his mind.
His participation, however, comes with three conditions. No questions about anything outside of his time at school or outside of the tale The Lion and the Snake. No questions about his marriage or a timetable for children. And most importantly... No Sophie.

We begin, the five of us seated in the Gold Drawing Room of Camelot's castle.

Looking back now, what was the most memorable moment of your first year?
_

"Probably the Trial by Tale," Y/n answered almost intermediately.
"Because everything took a turn for the worse?" Tedros asked.
"No... or well, yes that's true, but that's not why it's memorable," she said. "At the time, I remember how hard it felt. I'd never been so close to life or death before, and at the time I thought nothing would be harder than what we'd gone through that night. But now as I look back it feels like a walk in the park."
"It's not exactly fighting a Snake or zombie villains," Agatha agreed.
"My most memorable moment is probably when we went to the Garden of Good and Evil," Hort said.
"All we did was eat meerworms," Tedros questioned. "Or what, do you eat them in secret?"
"No, idiot!" Hort huffed. "That's because it's the first time me and Y/n talked. So it's special to me."
"Awww!" Y/n gushed, cheeks blushing.
"It's not that cute," Tedros mumbled bitterly. "For me, it's probably when Agatha punched me in the eye."
The other three burst out into laughter. "Oh, I enjoyed that one," Agatha said, drying a tear. "You went on and on about how you thought I was a witch."
"Well, for starters, you said you lived in a graveyard, kept talking about your one.eyes black cat, and pretended to put hexes and spells on me," Tedros said. "Not to mention you were also weirdly possessive over Y/n and acted like I would kidnap her—"
"Speak for yourself," Agatha said.
"--And still I saved you," Tedros continued. "All I got in return were punches to the face and kicks in the crown jewels."
"Lies!" Agatha scoffed. "When did I kick you!"
"Hobgoblin challenge," both Y/n and Tedros said.
"You also kicked him into horse dung," Hort snickered. "That might also be my favorite moment."
"Ohhhhh, right," Agatha said, pausing. "Deserved."
