Arthur certainly hadn't been subtle about it.
Marking the house with a sword through the roof, like Zeus hurdling a thunderbolt.
The house of the true heir to Camelot.

Y/n remembered the first time she ever saw Chaddick of Foxwood, strutting into the Welcoming with the rest of the Everboys, flaunting his swordplay and puffed chest and flirty gray eyes. He'd even thrown her his rose. And yet, all her attention had gone to Tedros, though this wasn't completely strange because Tedros was her True Love. But Chaddick had been just as charming as Tedros, just as capable, just as much potential... But Tedros was the one fated to be king. That's why all the girls had wanted Tedros. That's why all the boys wanted to be Tedros. Except Chaddick. He'd always been contempt to be the best friend, the liege. Maybe because he'd been happy to be at school at all. What would have happened if they'd known the truth? Where would Chaddick and Tedros be now? How would her story have played out—

The carriage hit a snag and her head thumped the roof. Y/n looked down at her rope-tied hands and the metal cuff around her neck attached to a chain, held by three women sitting opposite, with long gray hair, hawkish eyes, and bare feet snaking out from lavender robes. Her cat in her lap had also been collared, chained together with the same chains as Y/n. A single scim hovered in the carriage, but instead of its usually lethal nature, it almost seemed to be cuddling with her shoulder, much to the Mistral Sisters disdain. Clearly they brought the scim to be a weapon if she disobeyed, but Japeth's newfound goals seemed to stop that. Though the sisters likely had no idea Japeth had no ambitions of bringing back his mother or father from the dead.
Through the window, she could see at least fifty Camelot guards protecting the prisoner's transport, the guards sealed in armor and carrying crossbows, marching with the carriage through the twilit Woods, dappled with copies of Excalibur.

"This really seems like a waste of resources," Y/n hummed.
"You escaped under our watch," Alpa pointed out. She twisted her finger, trying to get the eel to obey, but it more so just seemed to hiss at her. "We'll return you to Camelot and seal you in the dungeons until it's time for you to wed the One True King."
"Mmm, I'm not sure he'll like me being thrown in the dungeons," Y/n said. "Though, he's not the only thing you need to look out for. Even if you're also sorcerers, sisters to the School Master, magic won't be able to save you." Y/n summoned a wicked smile, but the Mistrals saw through it.

"Sent word to the king that you'd been found in Foxwood prowling around a house hit by a sword," Bethna said. "Didn't take long for him to figure out which house it was."
Outside, Y/n could see Lionsmane's message vanish from the sky, the message about needing help finding the sword.
"He's on his way to the Gremlaine place now," said Omeida. "Fitting, isn't it? Tedros once thought Excalibur was his by right. Now it'll lop off his head. But what to do with that head?"
"Auction it to the highest bidder," Bethna proposed.
"Mount it in the king's chamber," Alpa offered.
"Keep it over your bed," said Omedia. "He and the other three you love so much."
Y/n swallowed her nausea.

"Once Tedros is dead and the last ring in the king's hands, then the wedding will resume," said Alpa. "King Rhian and Queen Y/n, finally united. Queen for a night at least, then a return to the dungeons, where you'll never again see the light of day." Alpa couldn't help but eye the scim on Y/n's shoulder however.
"The only one I'm marrying anytime soon is Tedros and Agatha!" Y/n snapped. "I'm not marrying that Snake, and with no marriage, there's no One True King. His blood will never be united with mine."
"Not sure you'll have a say in the matter," Alpa replied.
The scim on her shoulder cleaved into two, then three, then four, resting around her ear now, dangerously close to peek in, like even if Japeth no longer wanted to hurt her physically, he was still okay to invade her mind.
"This time, we'll use more than two," said Bethna.
The scims rejoined into one, resting on her shoulder again.
