(tw: in this chapter there is attempted sexual assault. It is not explicit in any way, and this is something that happens in the original book, not something I added. There have before been uncomfortable advances in this book and I have not used warnings for those, but this one is a much more clear and I would say more triggering situation. If this in any way makes you uncomfortable, that's okay, and you should skip this chapter. All the love and see you then in the next one.)

"If Rhian's trapped in bed, why can't we just kill him!" Sophie hassled as she followed Agatha and Y/n into Reaper's bathroom.
"Because killing him won't put Tedros back on the throne," Y/n said. "We need to prove Tedros is the real king."
Sophie shook her head. "Rhian confessing Arthur isn't his dad won't give us that proof. Nor does it solve the fact that Tedros can't pull Excalibur from the stone. Or the fact people hate him—"

"But it gets Rhian off the throne and gives Tedros a chance to redeem himself," said Agatha, finding Dovey's crystal wrapped in towels near the tub, still smelling of lavender. "Maybe once Tedros proved Rhian's a fraud, Tedros will be able to pull Excalibur. Maybe that's his real coronation test after all."
"Not so sure that makes any sense," Y/n said. "How would Arthur even know a fraud would try and take the throne."
"Yeah, and it's a lot of 'maybes' to risk our lives for," Sophie grumbled.

Agatha turned to her sharply. "Unless you have something better, it's the best plan we have. The connection won't last long. I'll show Rhian the letter, you'll make him admit Arthur isn't his father, and Y/n will just do a spell to record everything, and we will jump out before the portal closes." She snatched one of the vials off Reaper's vanity, emptied it of cream, and folded Arthur's letter inside, before sealing it and hiding it in her dress. She slipped into the tub, gripping the crystal ball against her chest, the steamy water making her heart thump faster than it already was.
"I've never done a recording spell before though," Y/n said. "If I rack my brain, I can probably remember one. But doing a spell well that you've never even tried before, that's hard."
"Well, you're the next best sorcerer I know, so I'm sure you'll be able to pull it off," Agatha said, giving her girlfriend a supporting smile.
"Not so sure about it..." Y/n mumbled, jumping in herself.
Both of them looked at Sophie.
"Ugh, fine!" she groaned, cautiously going down into the water. "But just because I want to see that slimy fink beg and cry."

"Hmmm... well, there's a mimic spell to parrot back anything someone says," Y/n said. "Think I saw it in one of my elementary level books—"
"Okay, mimic what I'm about to say," Agatha ordered.
"I'll try..." Y/n said, before she tapped her thumbs together in a pattern.
Agatha dictated: "I will not run away, I will not waste time in the crystal, I will let Agatha and Sophie do the talking, and I will leave when Agatha tells me to... and I love you."
Y/n opened her mouth and Agatha's voice came out, but slow motion and an octave too low: "I will not run away, I will not waste time in the crystal, I will let Agatha and Sophie do the talking, I will leave when Agatha tells me to... and I..." She squawked like a parrot. "... you."
Agatha frowned.
"I knew this would be a bad idea," Sophie sighed.
"Oh I'm sure I'll work out the finer details by the time he confesses," Y/n said, submerging in the bath.

Agatha and Sophie's splashes unfurled next to her and the three girls held their breath as Agatha laid the ball on the floor of the pool and gazed into its center. Agatha prepared for the assault—
Y/n took her and Sophie's hands, and Agatha could feel power surge through her hand. Water blasted around them, but they managed to stay put, only lightly being pushed back. Y/n held their hands tight and she dove forward, pushing past any pain she might have endured and slamming their hands against the ball. A supernova of white light exploded, tearing the girls apart, leaving Agatha falling into a void, her awareness fractured.
