THE AMAZING SPIDER-BAT

THE ORPHAN PART 2

Years ago, before Peter became Spider-Bat, he watches as a bloody beaten Cassandra struggles to get to her feet. As Peter feels bad for the little girl, a man named David Moon walks up next to Peter.

"Don't you think you're being too hard on her?" Peter asks.

"I don't remember asking for your opinion, Parker." David says.

"She's a kid." Peter replies.

"And when I'm finished training her, she'll be the perfect weapon."

As David walks away, Peter walks over to Cassandra and helps her to her feet and wipes the blood from her face. The young girl is confused by Peter's compassion then slowly pulls away to continue her training, concerning Peter with her willingness to continue training. Back to present day, the woman who is after Cassandra stands on a rooftop when a League of Shadows Assassin appears next to her.

"Lady Shiva. We have a problem."

"Where is my daughter?" Shiva asks.

The assassin pauses for a moment due to overwhelming fear.

"Spider-Bat stopped us from retrieving the girl. She is with him as we speak." The Assassin says.

This news angers Shiva as she storms off.

"Looks like we'll have to pay Peter Parker a visit." She says angerly.

Meanwhile, in the Batcave, Ben stitches up Cassandra while Peter, Tim, Andrea, and Jill watches.

"Peter, who is this girl?" Andrea asks.

Peter let's out a sigh before answering.

"Her name is Cassandra Moon. The daughter of Lady Shiva."

"I saw that name in your files. You called her one of the most dangerous woman alive." Jill says.

Peter nods, looking over at Cassandra.

"When I was training with Ra's Al Ghul, she was raising her own daughter to be the ultimate assassin. The ultimate weapon. She wouldn't teach her to read, or talk. All so that her only language would be body language. The language of Shadows... of death."

"Jesus. That's awful." Andrea says.

"So what, does that mean she won't be able to understand us? Or even talk to us?" Tim asks.

"Only through body language. It's hard, but I figured it out... kind of." Peter says.

At that moment, Ben finishes stitching up Cassandra stomach.

"There we are. All done." Ben says.

A few seconds later, Cassandra suddenly jumps up on the operating table, grabs Ben by the throat and prepares to throw a punch. Peter quickly runs over, holding her fist back.

"No. Friend." Peter says, using his body language.

Cassandra slowly calms down, then sits back on the table. Peter then checks on Ben.

"Are you alright?" Peter asks.

"Of course, this isn't the first time I've almost been punched in the face, sir." Ben says.

Peter smiles then he turns his attention back to Cassandra. He uses body language to ask what happened and why is the League Of Shadows trying to kill her.

"Wow, it's like watching a weird game of charades." Tim says.

Cassandra pauses for a moment, before using her body language to tell Peter that they're not trying to kill her,they're trying to capture her. That a few months ago she ran away from a mission and ever since then her mother has been after her. Tears start falling down her face as she communicates to Peter that she couldn't take the killing anymore. Peter looks at the child with sadness, putting his hand on her shoulder and telling her he's sorry. At that moment, the alarms are triggered by someone trespassing. Jill quickly pulls up a camera and sees a woman standing infront of the mansion.

"So I've never seen a picture of this lady Shiva, but I'm guessing this angry looking woman standing on your front lawn is her, right?" Jill says.

Cassandra sees the image of her mother on screen and starts to back away in fear. Peter kneels down and communicates to her that everything is going to be alright. He then pulls his mask over his face and goes to leave the cave.

"You all stay here. Put the cave on lockdown as soon as I leave." Peter says.

Jill nods as the hero leaves, causing Cassandra to worry. Meanwhile, as Lady Shiva waits outside, she notices something and smiles.

"Mr. Parker. You've certainly changed since the last time we've met." Shiva says, turning around to see Spider-Bat behind her.

"It's been awhile, Shiva. Don't tell me you came all the way to New York because you missed me." Peter says.

"I came for my daughter. Give her back to me, and this situation doesn't have to get messy." Shiva says.

"Sorry, can't help you there. I haven't seen Cassandra in years."

At that moment, Shiva pulls out a sword puts it against Peter's throat.

"Let's try this again." Shiva says.

Peter stares down Shiva with no fear.

"You better make sure you don't miss." Peter replies.

Shiva smirks.

"Ra's Al Ghul said that we couldn't kill you. But he didn't say anything about Benjamin Pennyworth. Or Andrea Jane Watson. Or Jill Stacy. Or that new child you've recently taken in. This is my last time asking, give Cassandra back to me, or I'll kill them all infront of you." Shiva says.

"I don't like ultimatums. And I sure as hell don't appreciate people threatening the people I care about." Peter says.

The hero then throws a smoke bomb down, catching Shiva off guard. When the smoke clears, Peter is gone gone and Shiva is left standing alone. Shiva scoffs at Peter, putting away her sword.

"He's gotten better, but he's still that same naive boy who came to use all those years ago." She says.

She then turns to the darkness behind her.

"He may not kill you. But I will if you come back without my daughter. Now go!" Shiva orders.

At that moment multiple League Of Shadow Ninjas come out of the darkness with their swords drawn, walking towards the Parker Mansion. Meanwhile Tim and the others are in awe at how many assassins there are outside.

"Woah. That's a lot of Ninjas." Tim says.

Meanwhile, Cassandra stumbles back into the corner, worried about Peter's safety. Andrea sees this, walks over to her and comforts her.

"It's alright. Peter will be ok. He's handled far worse odds than this." Andrea says.

She then grabs her hand.

"After tonight, you won't have to worry about being used as a weapon anymore." Andrea says.

Cassandra may not be able to understand a word Andrea is saying, but she is comforted by Andrea's smile. She then looks at the screen and watches as Peter takes on the Shadows.
