I asked my friends to help me for the perfect execution of my plan. There was no chance that Tejas would have agreed to take a whole day's leave when he was leading our crew for the world dance championships. Other captains held equal responsibilities, but my boyfriend had the habit of being in-charge every time.
Thus, I requested Vibhan, Hriaan, and Joy to join me to convince Tejas that he was a human being too and not a robot.
My friends agreed as they also shared the same views as me. Tejas was a perfectionist, and we all admired him for that, but he needed to listen to others also. He always scolded me to take care of my health, but he himself would pull all-nighters and work alone to avoid troubling others.
Therefore, after a week of planning, Hriaan gave me the green signal. He, Vibhan, and Joy had a usual meeting with Tejas, and there they decided upon managing the team themselves while Tejas could take care of outside matters. They very well knew that he wouldn't take a break so easily, so they did their best, and then it was my turn to handle the rest.
Like always, it was late in the night, and he was working on his laptop in the practice room, making academic notes simultaneously. Everyone, except me, Vibhan, and Hriaan had already left, but Tejas didn't know that he wasn't alone in the studio. He thought I had really left with others as I had acted leaving in front of him just half an hour ago.
I went behind him and gently pressed his shoulders.
"Your muscles are stiff," I told him.
"Your hands will hurt," he said. "And why are you here? Did you forget something?"
"No, I didn't, and my hands won't hurt. Why are you working so late? You stayed in the studio last night too."
"Getting the work done sooner is better."
"You only talk about work," I scolded. "You are actually a human, right?"
He grabbed my right hand and pulled me in front of him.
"Why don't you check for yourself?" he asked and pecked my lips.
"That was really short," I said. "By the way, I am not joking about you working all the time."
He took a strand of my hair and rolled it around his index finger.
"Are you complaining that I don't give you time?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.
"No, you do," I replied. "But you are always taking care of me only. Tell me honestly - do you really sleep at home?"
"You may come to check if you think I don't," he said, acting innocent.
I cupped his face and giggled when his ears turned bright red.
"I will if you promise to actually sleep in the night," I said. "Tejas, I am serious. Will you please take a break?"
"I am taking a break right now, ain't I?" he replied.
I squinted my eyes. "This is not a break. Close this laptop, and we will leave for our homes."
He shook his head. "I will drop you home, but I can't delay this work any more. I got my schedule full for this month, Hamster."
"Do you even love me?" I asked him.
He furrowed his eyebrows and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I love you a lot, Bhoomi. What's the matter? What did I say that hurt you? Don't pout like this," he asked worriedly.
Right now also, he is concerned about me only.
I shifted closer to him and told him to listen carefully. He became more tensed, so I caressed his forehead.
