I had invited a whole lot of trouble for myself, but I was really excited and looking forward to turn my vision into reality.
Nishant aka Nuke had agreed to help me, but due to his jobs, he couldn't participate as a dance member. To tackle that, he offered to get me some good dancers he had acquainted while attending several events during his work shifts. Also, he ensured that he would help me with stage decorations and costume styling as he was fond of watching theatre plays and had learnt about stage management through that.
Due to his suggestions, I was able to come with new ideas, and he was happy to help me execute them efficiently. After five days, my final team was formed, and now it was time to face the bigger challenge.
On the first day of our practice, my whole team had a heated round of brainstorming and discussion regarding our choreographies, each dancer's skills, and how we could utilise everyone's strengths and experience.
The Emperors' juniors were very enthusiastic and actively participated in every discussion, but Tejas had already warned me about the challenges regarding them.
Nuke visited us as much as he could, imparting valuable insights into our preparations. After two days of brainstorming, everyone showed their confidence in my plan of action, though I knew they were a bit doubtful about what I had proposed.
From the next day, we began the rough rehearsals for our first part of choreography, and as expected, my boyfriend visited our practice room. His juniors were very happy to see him, and he warned them to behave.
"Are you here to scare them?" I teased Tejas.
"No, I was just checking if they are still alive or not," he joked back.
I narrowed my eyes. "I am not strict like you. Ask the boys how much I care for them."
Ronit, Varun, Sam, and Ijaz nodded happily.
"Bhoomi Didi is the best," Varun said.
Tejas acted like he was really surprised.
"Oh, nice to hear that," he replied. "But let me also see how long you will be saying that for."
"Why does it feel like he is warning us for our own good?" Ronit asked his friends.
Sam and Ijaz agreed. "He doesn't look like he is joking."
I looked at Tejas in accusation, and he pressed his lips into a thin line, trying to control his laughter.
"Boys, go back to practice. I will return after dealing with your Captain," I said.
The boys left, leaving me alone with Tejas. He also started scurring off, but I grabbed his arm.
"What was your intention of coming here?" I interrogated. "Are you spying on my team? Why are you scaring my team members?"
Tejas smiled. "I came to meet my girlfriend because she keeps forgetting that she has a boyfriend too, but she is not here, so I will leave, Miss Team Leader."
"Are you serious?" I argued. "You know how much busy I am. And, aren't you busier than me?"
He nodded like a reporter. "I am extremely sorry for my mistake. I won't disturb you now."
He moved his legs, but I didn't leave his arm. I pulled him back, putting all of my strength to stop him; it was of no use.
"Tejas, will you stop?" I scolded.
He ignored me and kept moving. I tried my best to pull him towards me, but I ended up tripping on my own feet. While I was using my whole body to obstruct Tejas, he saved me from crashing into the glass window with just one hand.
