**(A/N: Okay, I'm kind of stuck because I don't know who the love-interest should be; and I kind of need to know in order to further plan where to take this story. So, I'm going to ask for your guys' input and make a decision from there. Who do you think this Elena's love-interest should be? And, please carefully explain why you think so.
I know who I absolutely will not be pairing her with: Damon, Stefan, Marcel, Hayley, Caroline, Rebekah, Enzo, Tyler, or Matt. I'm definitely going to pair her with A SINGULAR Mikaelson, though; I'm just not sure which one.
• Some people mentioned her with Finn and I honestly wouldn't mind it, but I'm not sure how or why they would work together in that context.
• Elijah could be a possibility because he's incredibly respectful and treats her with dignity; he's emotionally mature and emotionally intelligent that she doesn't need to struggle to try and explain the way she's feeling, when a majority of the time she doesn't understand her own emotions; he doesn't ever try to manipulate her, he's always honest with her, which is refreshing to someone like her who has been manipulated and lied to a majority of her first life; he gives off a sense of calm and control, which would be refreshingly grounding in her crazy situation; they both have a strong moral compass and always want to do the right thing; while I think he's a little nostalgic when seeing the dopplegänger's faces, I believe he treats each one seperate to the others and sees them as themselves, he doesn't idealize a past version and compare the one he's with to the one he first loved or see them as replacements; I think they'd make a pretty powerful dynamic, honestly.
• Niklaus could be a possibility because they hold so much in common: physically/emotionally/verbally/mentally abusive father, complacent mother, being betrayed deeply by their sibling whom they loved, constant abandonment by those they cared about. They can understand each other on such a deep level, I think they could help each other heal and become better people for it.
• Kol could be a possibility because he's could bring her a bit of mischief/fun in a life that's been so serious and tense; as someone else said, he could be the first to see she's different/hiding something and help her through it, which would be deeply helpful and relieving for her; he would do anything to protect her and be so loyal, which is something she very very very deeply values and really needs.
Those are my thoughts, but I'm open to suggestions. I'll take it as a toll and give it a bit to accumulate enough responses to settle the matter. Thank you!)**
