SITTING IDLY turned into boredom, so the three of you decided to head out and explore the safe parts of sabaody, safe meaning no marines in your terms as pirates.
theo decided to change your hairstyle, something different from your usual. luckily, your trusty stylist and cook picked a more casual outfit this morning before you left the ship, you three did not want to have unnecessary attention. after saying a see you later to shakky and another thank you for the food, you went out.
arriving at grove 30 where the shopping mall is located, you decided to check for new clothes and accessories, even cosmetics. theo being the one who approves whether you should buy it or not. kurose is just there, i guess. . . oh he also wanted to buy a new polishing set.
"hey, do you think this shade will suit me?" you asked, showing theo the shade that you swatched on your palm.
he stared at the shade for a while then turned to look at you, "that's a bit too light for you, cap." he hummed and took a different shade, "what about this?"
"hmm, yeah i guess this is much better."
kurose was just there, before he spot another stall, "what if you try using perfumes?"
you and theo turned to the stall that he was looking at, "hmm, but i will just smell like the sea in the end." you thought out loud, tilting you head a little.
kurose grumbled and dragged you to the stall. he one by one took a whiff of each scent available. he look like a total weirdo in theo's point of you and you're just standing there confused.
after around 3 minutes, he talked to the owner, who introduced herself as emilie, payed for the scent he choose and gave it to you directly.
"here, smell this." you gave him a bewildered look before shrugging and taking the full bottle of perfume from his hands. it was flowery and vanilla-y, and has an after smell of [favorite scent].
the straw hats have also reached the shopping centers with hatchan, commonly known as hachi, the octopus fishman, as their guide. they were checking other things to buy with luffy riding a bon chair (a vehicle used to travel in sabaody—it is fixed inside a bubble where the user has to pedal for the propeller to spin—it's like some sort of bubble bike).
being occupied with the new perfume that kurose bought you, and the two of them bickering behind you. you three did not mind the other people present in the shopping centers, just trying to find the bladesmith to be able to buy a new polishing set.
you and luffy have crossed paths, with you looking at the different ingredients on the perfume bottle and luffy preoccupied robin's explanation. the young captain flinched, hearing a bell chime in his ear.
a tinkling sound is what he heard. this made him stop, confused he forrowed his brows and looked back.
mouth slightly agape, he stared at your back. he swallowed nothing, he's not feeling anxious or scared, he's just confused. who the heck was that? he asked himself. he stared until you were no longer in view.
he stayed like that for a few minutes before brook noticed that his captain was not behind them anymore. "luffy-san? is something wrong?" he asked, the said captain turned to look at him and shook his head smiling, "nothing! just heard something weird," he answered laughing it off.
that was before someone emerged from the crowd with a collar, "somebody help me!! please, let me go! i don't want to die!!"
after buying all the things that you needed, you went back to the ship. the two stayed behind, theo gave a sorry excuse of buying food rations (he had already bought rations that could feed the whole crew) but you shook it off and let them be.
they did not stay at groove 30, but went to the lawless areas of sabaody from grove 0 to 29 where pirates and bounty hunters run amok.
they arrived at grove 16, where a warning sign against the marines is located. it had a dead marine strung up there; it was already bones at this point.
the two of them did not want to start trouble; they just wanted to find rayleigh, seeing how well he was winning or not (spoiler: he lost all his money).
meanwhile the strawhats namely; luffy, chopper, brook, and the three; camie, hatchan and pappag have arrived in grove 13, in shakky's bar.
as they opened the entrance door, it revealed shakky holding up a pirate by his collar, all beat up, whispering he'll pay.
"oh, my. hacchan!" she exclaimed.
minutes pass after shakky took most of that pirate's money, they took a set. luffy was now rummaging the bar's refrigerator.
"you're monkey-chan , the captain of a pirate crew, right?" the woman asked after giving chopper a stick of cotton candy.
"you know about me?" luffy asked, mouth full of food.
"of course, you are getting pretty notorious. plus, i'm a well-informed person," shakky added, taking a puff off her cigarette. "well they just left, i didn't expect to have you here at his moment."
"huh? who's they?" hachi asked.
"ah right, hacchi, theo just left with his captain. he did ask about you, can't answer him though." she shared almost forgetting about earlier.
"aw really? i haven't seen theo in a while," hacchi smiled softly, the two of them exchanged takoyaki recipes, and they clicked as friends.
"ee? hacchi, you know theo?" luffy asked the octopus. chopper and brook just listened to the exchange of words quietly.
"yeah! were friends."
"ne, monkey-chan. i read the news that theo traveled with you guys, right?" luffy bobbed his head for more than 3 times, "yesh! he's good at cooking!"
"well, his crew is here at the moment. maybe you should say hi."
"i will!! i hope i get to see him again."
