"Kirishima, Yaoyorozu, L/n, Todoroki, Midoriya, Ida," Mr. Aizawa said. The whole class was gathered outside of our new dorm building on UA's campus. "You six are the ones who broke the rules and went to rescue Bakugo."
He looked around at the rest of the class. "Based on your reactions, I suspect the rest of you were at least aware of this. If it weren't for All Might's retirement, I would expel all of you, except for Bakugo, Jiro, and Hagakure. The six who went and the remaining 12 who didn't stop them. In order to regain our trust, you'll need to obey every rule to the letter and live as model students."
He turned and started walking away. "That's all. Enjoy your new home."
The class stood quietly, unsure what to do, all looking at each other. I was a little on edge. I didn't love the idea of dorms if I was being completely honest. That wasn't something I could tell my parents though, at least not right now when they didn't want me here at all.
Bakugo dragged Kaminari around, making him use his lightning and become an idiot. That lightened the mood.
"Sorry guys!" Kirishima shouted to everyone. "I know this won't make up for it, but let's all go out to eat tonight. On me."
The class cheered. I looked around. That's a lot of people to feed.
Aizawa took us inside. There was a huge common room that took up the whole first floor. It was spacious with lots of seating and big windows. It looked nice. Baths and laundry room were on the first floor too. There was even a courtyard in the very middle of the dorm with big doors leading out to it.
Living quarters started on the next floor. Girls on the right, boys on the left. There were four people on each level, each with their own room. I was on the 4th floor. Uraraka was just to my right and the dorm next to me was empty since there were so few girls.
I didn't have too much to move in with me. I had some art and a poster that I brought from home. Then blankets, a little rug, a few desk things, then living and school supplies. I kept the door open the whole time since I was coming in and out so much. Plus, everyone else was too.
"Heyy."
I looked up as someone knocked on the door. It was Uraraka with Mina and Jiro.
"Are you finishing up?" Mina asked as she skipped into my room.
"Yeah," I said. "I'm just relaxing a little."
"I get that," Jiro says and sits down on my bed. "I'm so tired. I brought as many of my instruments as I could and moving them all in was such a hassle. I wouldn't want to live without them though."
"It's so fun that we all get to live together!" Mina said.
"It sucks that Bakugo was captured and you almost died," Uraraka said, "but I think this is a pretty good outcome. If feels like we're living in a mansion." She giggled.
"Hey guys." Hagakure stood in the door. "Can I come in?"
"Sure," I said.
"I have the best idea!" Hagakure said. "Why don't we do a room competition for the boys' rooms?"
"Yess!" Mina agreed. "I wanna see them all." She grabbed my arm and pulled me and Jiro out of the room. "C'mon, let's go tell them!"
We didn't fully get through two floors of rooms before someone suggested bringing the girls into the competition too. Of course, it was Mineta. Most of the other guys agreed though, so once we had gone through all of the guys' rooms, we went through the girls.
It was kinda embarrassing. My room was so plain compared to most of the other girls'. Mine was pretty similar to Uraraka's though. At least I had more than Shoji. He had nothing but a futon and a floor-level desk in his room. A few people didn't let that one go.
After we had gone through all the rooms, we voted. Sato won because of his wonderful cake. I had voted for him too.
It was late now. I was tired and ready for bed. Before I could reach the elevator though, Uraraka called me over. She also called Todoroki, Momo, Midoriya, Ida, and Kirishima to come over. I had a feeling I knew what this was about.
She brought us outside. It was dark and the electric lanterns had turned on all around campus.
"So where are we going?" Kirishima asked as we walked down the few steps in front of the building.
Tsu was standing on the grass just to the side of the path. I hadn't seen her all night. Uraraka had said Tsu wasn't feeling well.
Uraraka led us over to her. "Tsu said she had something she needed to tell everyone."
"You know I always say what's on my mind," Tsu said quietly. "but sometimes... I don't know... I'm at a loss. Do you remember what I said back in the hospital?"
When she had said that going after Bakugo and acting on our own would be the same as acting like villains.
"My heart was hurting." Tsu ducked her head further. "And the things I said must have hurt you. Despite that, you still went and saved Bakugo. I didn't know that until this morning. I thought I'd stopped you. But I failed. I didn't think I deserved to joke around and hang out with everyone. But..."
She looked up at us. She was crying. "It made me so sad to be without you." I felt myself tearing up. "That's why I wanted to talk to you. So we could hang out and talk and have a good time again."
Uraraka put a hand on Tsu's shoulder. "It's not just you," she said. "We all wanted things to go back to normal. That's why we did the room contest. So we could feel like a class again."
"Tsu!" Kirishima jumped forward. "I'm sorry. Thanks for telling us how you feel!" I think he was crying.
"You didn't fail, Tsu," I said. "We did it." I definitely had tears in my eyes.
"It's okay," Momo said.
Ida stepped forward too. "I apologize."
"Don't feel bad." Todoroki couldn't show emotion if it was gonna burst out of him.
Big, fat tears were rolling down Tsu's face now. She'd stopped trying to control them. Kirishima grabbed her shoulders.
"I won't make you sad again!"
"Me either," I said.
"We promise," said Ida.
A few minutes later, we were slowly wandering back into the dorm building after having mostly dried our faces. Tsu and Momo were still outside when I closed the big front door behind me. Kirishima was staring up at the ceiling, his hands in his pockets. He turned when he heard me.
"It's been a day, huh," he said.
"It's been a few of them."
"Yeah." He smiled without any humor behind it and stared up at the ceiling again. He sighed. "I'd do it again." He looked down at the ground now.
"Me too."
Kirishima met my eyes and nodded once.
"Night, L/n."
"Goodnight."
