Kirishima grabbed me. I could feel his quirk. I knew it was him. He pulled me closer so that I landed on him a moment later. It wasn't a hard fall. Kirishima hadn't used his quirk, which would have protected him but hurt me even more.
I scrambled up off him. "Are you alright?"
Kirishima grinned as he stood up. "No problem." I noticed he rubbed his ribs when he thought I wasn't watching though.
"Well, well. It looks like some state-authorized thugs crashed our party."
We all turned to see a group of villains. These guys actually looked like villains, more so than most of the guys up above. They all had masks on. One was a scarecrow mask. Another had stringy, blond hair. And the third was bald.
Fat Gum chuckled. "Let's see how long petty criminals can last against a pro."
Suneater held his hand out. "Pros should save their strength for the target. These guys just wanna slow us down. Go on."
I looked to Fat Gum. I knew Suneater was strong, but were we really gonna leave him here by himself? There were three villains and he was only one person. Not even a full pro yet.
"You don't have to fight alone," Kirishima said. "We'll help you."
The villains pulled their weapons and began to attack. Within the blink of an eye, Suneater had all of them captured with long octopus tentacles.
"It's not smart to keep all our pros here," he said. "Fat Gum, this is something I know I can do on my own."
Fat Gum only thought about it for a brief moment. "Let's go." He started running.
"Wait a minute," Kirishima called after him. Fat Gum didn't stop. He glanced at me, then together with the others, we ran off after the pro.
"You're gonna leave him alone back there?" Kirishima asked as we ran.
Fat Gum didn't answer for a second. "I have faith in him. He's stronger than anyone here."
That kept Kirishima quiet for a while. After a few minutes of running though, he spoke up again.
"Man, I'm really worried about Amajiki."
"Listen," Fat Gum said. "You've left a comrade behind to protect your back. A real man would trust him."
"Yeah! Amajiki's got this!"
Well, I guess if that was enough for Kirishima...
We only ran for a moment longer before a beam of the wall shot out and caught Mr. Aizawa. Kirishima moved before I could blink. He was jumping to help. Then I guess I was too. I was only half a step behind him. Fat Gum still caught up. He didn't see us or something. He pushed Aizawa out of the way and the three of us were pushed into a hole in the wall.
"Red Riot? Ears? How did the two of you get here?" Fat Gum asked as the three of us stood up.
Kirishima rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, I jumped for Aizawa, but then when you did I guess I got stuck."
"Uh, yeah, me too."
Fat Gum raised his eyebrows, then turned and looked around the room. "Well, nothing we can do now."
There was some sort of noise from farther back in the dark, metal and cement room. There were footsteps coming towards us. They were coming fast.
Out of the gloom and shadows, a large man emerged. He had a beaked mask and long, brown hair. His shirt could barely fit over his large frame. He was ready for a fight.
