I sat up straight. I was tired and sore, but I was fully awake now.
"I'll go take care of the other students," Aizawa said, turning and rushing from the room. "Protect them," he called back to Vlad.
Maybe... maybe that smoke smell was real.
"Hey, shouldn't we go do something?" Kirishima said.
"Absolutely not." Vlad crossed his arms. "You will stay here where you're safe. We don't know what's out there and you students are not authorized to use your quirks to harm anybody. Even villains."
"But they might need us," Mina spoke up.
"The pro heroes will look out for you. They can handle it."
A minute later, Ojiro, Mineta, Ida, and Koda showed up. We were all standing by that point. Sero stepped forward.
"What's going on out there?"
"Multiple villains from the League of Villains have showed up and are attacking students," Ida said in the same uptight voice as ever. He still managed to sound worried though. "There was one right outside but Mr. Aizawa took care of him."
"There's fire everywhere," Ojiro added. "And some sort of poisonous smoke. There were also big explosions of dust up on the mountains. There must have been a fight or something up there. Tiger and Mandalay are fighting two villains right now."
"What about Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob?" Kaminari asked.
"Ragdoll is with the other students," Ida said. He got quiet and looked down at the ground. "Pixie-Bob was knocked out by one of the villains."
This wasn't good. We were supposed to be safe up here. No one was supposed to know where we were. All Might even stayed behind so the villains wouldn't track us. Why were they targeting us if he wasn't even here? Plus, one hero was down already and we had no idea where all the students were or how many villains had been sent.
"Everyone in class A and class B," That was Mandalay again, "in the name of the pro hero Eraserhead, you are granted permission to engage in combat. I repeat, use your training. You may fight these villains."
"Great," Kirishima was already on his way to the door. "Let's go get them!"
"Get back here," Vlad nearly shouted. "None of you are going anywhere. You are safe here and under my protection. You are not to leave. That was only for the students who are currently in danger. That is not for you to go out looking for danger."
"Listen, we've discovered one of the villain's targets. It's a student named Kacchan."
"Bakugo?" Kirishima said uncertainly.
"What do they want with him?" Ida asked.
No one had an answer for him.
"Kacchan," Mandalay continued, "you should try to avoid combat and stick to a group. I hope you can hear me."
Like that was gonna work. Bakugo was probably already in the middle of a fight with someone. If not, he was sure looking for one. That idiot.
Kirishima looked worried though. He kept glancing at the door, probably making a plan to run and help.
The class sat for a while, listening to the distant sounds of fighting. Every once in a while, the ground would shake. Every time it did, Kirishima got more and more agitated. It made sense. The villains were going after his best friend.
Should I comfort him or something?
No. No, I shouldn't. How would I feel if someone I really cared about was in danger and I couldn't do anything? Then what if somebody came and tried to tell me everything was alright? I'd just get angrier.
