I was sitting under the same tree as the day before. I didn't know why, my feet just led me here. The filtered sun was warm on my back and I had almost fallen asleep when I heard a shout. I blinked my eyes open and looked toward the street, which is where the yell had come from.
"Look. It's the fox again!"
"Where?"
"Under that tree. The same as yesterday!"
"I see it, I see it. You're right! It's the same one!" It was the tiro from yesterday. The yellow one was about to rush toward me but the grumpy one chopped him with his hand.
"Oi, Dunce face. If you rush at it, you'll scare it off."
"Ow, Bakugo, that hurt," Kaminari whined.
"Bakugo, you could've been nicer about that." The red-haired boy had his hands on his hips and was frowning at the grumpy one.
Well, I now know who they each are in a group. The mom, the crackhead, and anger issues.
"Soooo, Kirishima, do you think it came back today because it likes us?" Kaminari said, rubbing the back of his neck where Bakugo hit.
"I dunno, man. I don't think I've seen it before, but I haven't been looking for it. So, maybe?" He said the last part as a question, the same question I was asking myself at the moment.
"Another thing," Kaminari said. "Do you think it's a boy or a girl?" Kirishima shook his head.
"I have no idea. What do you think, Bakugo?" The blonde paused for a minute.
"How should I know?!"
Kirishima shrugged and started moving towards me. He squatted and smiled at me, holding out a hand.
I sniffed it and stayed still, letting him rub my head.
"You're a good little foxy, aren't you. Yes, you are. What are you? A boy, girl maybe? Can you tell me?" I stared up at him as he talked to me.
"It's a fox, man," Kaminari chuckled. Kirishima turned his head to his friend while continuing to scratch me.
"I know that," he defended. "I'm just talking to it. Don't you ever talk to animals?"
"Well, yeah." Kirishima turned back to me.
"Don't listen to him. He's just being jealous."
"Jealous of what?"
"That foxy likes me better than you," Kirishima shot back, grinning. Kaminari huffed and started walking down the street.
"Aye, where you going, man?" Kirishima stood up, ready to follow his friend.
"Home," came the simple answer. Kirishima looked down at me and smiled.
"See you tomorrow, little fox."
As the three disappeared down the road, I stood up and walked back home.
Why did I go back? If I wanted attention, I could just go up to some little kid. Eh, whatever. Not like it really matters.
I padded into the backyard and over the cherry tree. I was able to climb high enough that jumping into my room was easy. I landed on my desk and hopped onto the floor of the room.
Those three seem really familiar, I thought as I changed back into a human and put on some clothes. I walked down the wooden stairs and into the living room, where my dad was watching TV.
"Hello, Japan. Today, we will be reviewing the U.A. sports festival that took place two days ago." I sat on the couch and watched as the reporter explained what was going on. He got to the third stage of the Sports Festival and my mom walked into the room.
"What's this?" She asked.
"They're reviewing the UA sports festival from a few days ago." My mom nodded and sat down, watching the screen.
"The first battle was between Midoriya Izuku and Shinso Hitoshi-" He commented on the fight and pointed out various facts that might be missed to the casual observer. He continued this for several battles.
"The seventh fight was between Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Kirishima Eijiro." I sat a little straighter.
Kirishima? So that battle earlier, that was Kaminari? Those three go to UA, interesting.
The next fight was between a girl called Uraraka Ochako and Bakugo Katsuki. After my suspicions were confirmed, I went back up to my room. The sun was setting so it's rays had to shift through the trees before falling into my room. I fell on my bed, face-up, and immediately sat up as the light hit my eye. I looked around my room and walked over to my desk, picked up a pencil, and fiddled with it as I looked out the window.
UA. The school where all aspiring hero's pray to go. Those three are training to be heroes. So stupid. Why waste your life to save people who are just going to turn around and mock you. Sure, they'll be grateful for a bit, then they'll gripe about how you haven't saved as many people as All Might. Then they just forget about you.
Those three are the same as everyone else. They'll probably just use me to get them some popularity. Use a fox? Really Y/n? How would they use a fox to get famous? Stupid overthinking. No, no. Overthinking is the only way to not get hurt. If you don't think, you won't be prepared for the possibility.
I sighed and shook my head. I looked around my room and back out the window. I wrote a note and placed it on the desk then changed into a fox and wriggled out from under my clothes. I jumped onto the desk and out the window. I almost missed the branch because the sun, which was almost gone, was blinding me. I made it to the ground safely but shakily and trotted away into the neighborhood.
