Kirishima winced and collided with the wall.

What on earth? "Hey, are you okay?"

"Yeah," he grinned. "I'm totally fine."

He didn't look it. That smile was clearly forced. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. He had scratches all over him and was bruised. I guess I hadn't really been paying attention before. He had seemed fine. It was also dark outside. That might have been it too.

It was later the same night. My quirk was still not responding. We had taken a train back to UA together and walked up to the dorm building. Now we were inside. Everyone else was long asleep. We had been heading towards the elevator before Kirishima hit the wall.

"You don't look okay, Kirishima."

"Ouch." That grin was real, if still pained.

"You know what I mean. Let's get you to a hospital. Or maybe there's someone in the infirmary still."

"No," he said, pushing himself back up to stand straight. "No, I'm fine, just tired and a little banged up. I can handle this myself."

"Are you sure?"

Kirishima paused, looking down at himself. We were back in our school uniforms, having changed once we were done at the agency. It was a precaution against villains following us home.

"I could probably use some help, actually."

"To a hospital?"

"No, no, I've got everything up in my room. I just need some gauze and hydrogen peroxide up in my room. Could you help me up there?"

"Yeah, of course." I ducked under his offered arm and supported him as we both walked over to the elevator.

Once it was moving, he leaned back against the elevator wall. I didn't fully let him go though. He could still fall again.

"That villain had some sort of power-up drug," Kirishima said, resting his head against the wall. He had a nice jaw. "Fat Gum says is was probably a black market thing. It only lasted for a few minutes. Without it, the guy could barely do anything but I leveled up my quirk fighting him when he was stronger."

"You did?"

Kirishima pulled his head back up and grinned at me. He hardened his other arm, the one not over my shoulder. It looked so much stronger than it had before. "I call it Unbreakable."

I smiled. "Nice."

The elevator dinged and opened its doors. I helped Kirishima walk over to his room and opened the door for him. We both staggered in and over to his bathroom. Kirishima flicked the lights on. He rested against the counter, letting go of me. He sighed.

"That's not supposed to be so hard."

I smiled at him. "Where's your gauze?"

"In the cabinet up there."

I opened it up and pulled out the gauze and cleaning alcohol, along with a box of band-aids. When I turned back, Kirishima had already taken off his tie and was starting to unbutton his shirt.

"Sorry," he said, "that's where most of the cuts are."

"It's fine." I really, really hoped I wasn't blushing. I didn't dare look in the mirror to check.

Kirishima shrugged his shirt off. His whole torso was a mess of cuts and bruises.

"Wow," I muttered. "That guy really was strong."

I grab a towel and have Kirishima hold it to catch the alcohol that spills. Then I gently begin to pour it over the worst of his cuts.

"This will probably sting," I say.

Kirishima barks a breathless laugh. "Thanks." He winces a moment later as the alcohol starts to fizz around the wounds. It's probably stinging.

Once most of the fizzing dies down, I cap the alcohol again. "You can put the towel down." Kirishima does. I start to unwind the gauze. "Do you have a lot of wounds on your back too?"

"No way. I faced that villain like a man."

I can't help but laugh. I hand Kirishima the end of the gauze, which he holds against his stomach, then I try to hand him the roll of gauze behind his back so it wraps around him.

"A little farther, L/n. I can't reach."

I lean closer to him. He grabs my hand too, when he finally gets the gauze.

"Sorry," he laughs.

We do that several more times, wrapping the gauze all the way up and around him. I get it over his shoulder twice too, so it doesn't slip down. I have to practically hug his shoulder to do it. When I pulled back, he was watching me.

Then we're done. There's a few more nicks on his hands and arms. He takes care of those himself.

"Oh," he says, brushing my lower shirt. "I got some blood on you."

I glance down. There's a small spot of red just to the right of where my belly button would be. "I think that's where the bullet hit me."

Kirishima stayed quiet for a second. Then he nodded. "Thanks for saving me."

I smile. "You would have been fine if I hadn't done anything."

He shook his head. "I wasn't using my quirk. The bullet would have hit me and taken my quirk, just like it took yours."

"You would have used your quirk in time. Your reaction speed is incredible." I laughed. "It was a waste."

Kirishima grabbed my wrist as I pulled away. "Not to me."

I froze. Like a deer in headlights. We were really standing very close. And he didn't have a shirt on. And it was really late and I was really tired. And he was holding my wrist and not letting me leave.

Kirishima smiled and let go. "Anyways, thanks."

I nodded lamely. "I'll see you tomorrow."
