Sharingan:Byakugan Combination

Chapter 15

Over the next few days I've trained with my father twice, Neji three times and alone once.  Today was the day before the start of the exams.  I decided today would be better spent resting and Neji and my father agreed.  I was taking a stroll when I saw Naruto with three little kids.

"Hey Naruto! Who are those little guys?" I called as I made my way over 

"Oh hey Hitomi!" Naruto said waving me over. "This is Konohamaru, Moegi and Udon.  They're studying at the academy."

I walked over and waved at them smiling wide.

"Oh my gosh! Guys that's Hitomi Hatake! Last years star pupil! She graduated early" Moegi said running over to me smiling wide.

"That is correct Moegi!  Anyway what are you three doing talking to Naruto.  He can't teach you anything"  I said sticking my tongue out and smiling at Naruto who looked embarrassed.

"What! Hitomi!" Naruto yelled as me and the kids laughed.

"I'm only joking.  Naruto has the most drive to be the best and he is really strong and improving very fast" I smiled kindly before I started to walk again. "Have fun you guys! Take it easy!" 

As I turned around I ran into someone.  They grabbed my wrist tightly.  I looked up and was looking at a boy who had purple face paint on and a black one piece outfit on.  I looked at his head band an noticed it wasn't from our village.  It was from the Village Hidden in the Sand.  His grip tightened even more when I looked at his eyes. 

"Oh what do we have here.  A cute little one aren't you" He said smirking but it was creepy looking.

"Hey let her go!" Naruto yelled running up behind me.

"Get out of here you twerp.  I'll show you a thing or two" The sand village ninja said glaring down at Naruto.

"Kankuro knock it off" The girl that walked up behind him said.

"I'm only having a bit of fun. Besides this cutie ran into me remember." The by that I'm assuming is Kankuro said.

Just then a rock smacked Kankuro's hand causing him to let go and Sasuke jumped down from he tree. 

"Leave her alone." Sasuke said putting a hand in front of me.

"Oh why you" Kankuro started coming towards us a little.

"Knock it off." A cool voice came from the tree and a kid about m age was staring down at us.

I was looking up at the kid and a sharp chill ran through my body.

"Who are you three" I said recomposing myself not liking the tension i felt in the air.

"Ninja from the Sand Village.  We're here for the Chunin Exams" The girl said as the boy jumped down from the tree.

"Well we'll see you there then" Naruto said with a little too much enthusiasm.

I kept staring at the red headed boy that seems to have control over the group.  They turned and left as another shiver ran through me.  Sasuke and Naruto turned to me.

"Are you okay Hitomi?" Naruto asked as Sasuke examined my wrist.

"I'm fine really! It was just scary honestly." I said before starting on my way again "I'm sorry but I really have to get somewhere"

I took off running and made sure to avoid the sand ninja as I passed them again.  That red head seems powerful and a bit scary too.  I shook the thought out of my head as I walked up to the Hyuga household where Neji was just exiting.

"Oh Hitomi what are you doing here?" Neji said walking up to me.

"Just thought I'd pay a visit because I'm nervous for the exam" I admitted looking at my wrist which still hurt a little.

"You okay Hitomi? What happened to your wrist" Neji asked as he noticed me rubbing my slightly bruised wrist.

I told Neji of my encounter with the sand ninjas early and how nerve racking it was.

"Don't worry about them.  You are tougher then they are and I believe in you." Neji said as we made our way towards the town.

"You really think so?" I said asking Neji looking up at him.

"With all our hard work, not to mention the training, I believe so.  Now go rest up and take care of  that wrist.  I'll see you tomorrow" Neji said before running up to his team.

I nodded and walked back home but couldn't rub the sense that someone was watching me even when no one was around.  I shrugged it off when my Byakugan didn't pick up anything.  It was probably just my nerves getting to me about the exam.  Tomorrow was going to be tough but whatever the challenge I swear that I am ready to take it on.
