After studying the paper for a few seconds I realized how hopeless it was to try and figure this out. I looked up and noticed a few people going at it like it was easy and then a few more, followed by a few more and more until it clicked for me. You're suppose to cheat without getting caught. Ninja's are suppose to be stealthy. My eyes are perfect for this! Byakugan!
I focused my eyes and swept the room. I noticed one person who looked like they knew what they were saying and I immediately began writing down the answers. I kept looking up at them and copying down their answers. I just hope Naruto gets it. I was going at it strong but when people started getting called out it fazed me slightly. After what felt like hours the proctor finally said he was about to reveal the tenth question.
"But there is a catch. You can choose to back out now and your whole team quits and can try again next time. If you choose to stay and receive the tenth question and you fail to correctly answer the question you remain a genin for the rest of your life but your teammates can come back and try again next time." The proctor spoke up and I almost considered throwing in the towel now.
No! Hitomi what are you thinking! You can't do that. Not with Neji here. I can't put all our training to waste.
Naruto's hand raising snapped me out of my thoughts. He couldn't give up! That's just not the Naruto I know.
"Ha! Bring it on! Even if I'm genin forever I'll still become Hokage and the best I can ever be. Believe it!" He yelled which sent a smile across my face and seemed to give everyone in the room a new confidence.
"So be i. Anyone else?" The proctor asked looking around the room "No one? Well then."
The air in the room was heavy and everyone was tense. This tenth question had the feeling of life or death situation.
"You all pass!" The proctor said "The point of the last question is that in missions you always risk your life for your teammates no matter what the cost. Congratulations!"
Almost if on cue someone came crashing in the window. She had stood in front of the proctor for the first exam and looked at us.
"Congratulations. I am your proctor for the 2nd Exam! Tomorrow at sunrise meet at the 44th Training Grounds for instructions on the second exam." She said before dismissing all of us.
I ran over to Naruto and Sasuke before we left.
"You scared me Naruto! I thought you were about to quit for a second!" I laughed as we walked outside.
"No not me, never!" He said smiling back in his goofy way.
I know this second exam will be harder but I gotta fight my hardest to succeed. Just as I was about to walk off the academy grounds I saw Neji walk by so I reached out to grab him.
"Neji!" I said jogging a bit to catch up to him "That test scared me a bit but thanks to our training I managed to pass"
He looked down at me well we walked and quickly smiled at me patting my head sense I was significantly shorter then him.
"Good job Hitomi, it is going to get harder from here on so remember your training." He said as we came up to where we separate and go our own ways.
I nodded as Neji walked down the way he goes. Just as I was about to walk down my path to go home I noticed the presence of someone behind me and when I turned around I caught a glimpse of the red hair of the sand ninja as he went back out of sight.
Why is the sand ninja watching me? What is up with him and why do I get a weird feeling whenever he is around?
