Jensen and Misha had always been the most oblivious people Jared knew, everyone on Supernatural had seen it. The lingering looks. The almosts. The moments that never quite crossed the line.
Everyone except them. Jared used to think it was funny. Then, frustrating. Then—over the years—painful. Too painful for both of them even.
Fifteen years passed in the blink of an eye. Jensen Ackles married. Three kids. A life that looked full and settled from the outside.
Misha Collins divorced. Two kids. Finally, a relationship that seemed steady, and all Jared could think was that none of this had to happen this way, but for those two not saying, not being together seemed always enough.
The funny thing was, for Jared as the third person seeing them, he was always reminded a quote that once he said as Sam about Dean and Cassie.
He had thought about that quote later on, on how it matched Cas and Dean too, but Jensen and Misha, took ownership to that line.
The way they look at each other when the other was not looking, how Misha looks at Jen when he isn't looking, with so much love and how Jensen checks out Misha when he isn't looking, again with so much love.
