Always-Watching Over Me

Jensen loved Misha so deeply that words never seemed enough, every time he tried to express it, the feelings overflowed—bigger than language could hold, express how grateful he was for Misha to come into his life.

So with a little help from his friend, he wrote a song—most of the lyrics woven for Cas, but quietly, secretly, for Misha too.

Today during the convention he decided to sing it with Rob, "So who were you thinking about when you wrote this song?", Rob asked as they stood on the stage.

Jensen smiled looking at his feet, "It definitely has a lot related to Destiel", he said and the fans screamed so loud the stage rattled slightly.

"And someone special", he said looking at his ring, his twin ring, not his marriage ring, but the one which held a special place in not only his heart but his soul.

Jensen leaned into the mic, the crowd hushed around him as he let the first words fall,

Lay it on...

The line carried more weight than the audience could ever guess, for him, it wasn't just the beginning of a song—it was a memory.

The way Misha had always laid his whole heart bare, unafraid of being seen, unafraid of letting Jensen see him

Now that I can see-

Jensen thought of how Misha had pulled him out of the blur, out of the quiet ache of living without truly living.

Couldn't bear to talk

Because before Misha, words had been hollow, too heavy to hold, Danneel had been like a steady wave, always moving around him, always there.

But Misha... Misha was a rock in the water, something solid, unshakable, making ripples that changed everything, making him want to stop and think who he is and what he wants, Misha was what he needed.

Without the will to breathe

Well, that was the truth of it, Misha had been the breath in his lungs when he hadn't even realized he was running out of air.

As Jensen sang one thing he didn't see was Misha had come and was by the dark doorway watching him sing, but he felt it in his heart when it gave a loud thump, he looked at the doorway right at Misha as he sang the next words.

Didn't hear the strength within your words
And what they mean
You were watchin' over me...

Every note he sang carried the weight of unspoken gratitude, every pause filled with the memory of Misha's quiet support.

Jensen's chest tightened as he realized, even here on stage, even in front of a screaming crowd, he was not alone.

The invisible tether between them pulled taut, and he could almost feel Misha's steady presence behind the shadows, a silent encouragement stronger than any applause.

For a moment, the music, the lights, the fans—all of it faded, leaving only the truth that Misha had always been there, watching, caring, loving him in ways words could never capture.

You can hear the call
When trouble's on the way

This part was definitely for Cas, as he always came when Dean called, no matter how big the mess, how impossible the fight, he was there. Always. That was Cas.

Who said the beast was gone?
He was only just away

This was intentional for second to last episode where Lucifer comes to the bunker calling as Cas, he was the beast who used loved ones as a way to get in.
