Dean Winchester didn't like classes, he hated them, but he sat through this one—right in the front.

To be precise, he sat on the desk directly in front of the teacher's, next to his brother Sam's, even though Dean was popular, he never had eyes for any of the girls—or boys.

He did have eyes for someone, though, and he was planning something when the door opened and the professor walked in.

"Good morning," Cas said, all the students repeated it except Sam and Dean, Cas didn't mind as usual and began removing his blazer when Dean decided to play.

"Professor, I have a suggestion," he said, and Cas sighed, he had been teaching at this school for the past two months, and Dean Winchester was the most challenging student— to say the least.

"Hello Dean", Cas said and Dean smiled his goofy, only-for-Cas-smile, "I haven't sat down, Mr. Winchester", Cas continued and folded sleeves of his green shirt, "You don't sit", Dean said and Sam rolled his eyes, here he goes, was his thought.

Cas came to stand in front of his desk, leaning against it and crossing his arms and Dean's brain short circuited.

Cas's bulging muscles were perfect distraction and he saw Cas smirking at him knowing what Dean was feeling yet Dean couldn't find the words.

"You were saying something Mr.Winchester", Cas said making Dean snap out of it, "Uhmm, yeah about our lesson today", Dean said swallowing hard, his throat suddenly dry.

"Oh really?", Cas asked, smirking and Dean nodded, "You really are gonna tell Mr. Novak what to teach?", a voice said making Dean look away from his— from Cas.

Nick Brown, Dean hated him—hated him to much because Nick was the perfect student, yeah, better than Sam, can you believe that?

And he flirted with Cas way too much, no one flirts with his husband, oh yeah—Dean and Cas were married for a year now and they were here on an undercover hunting mission.

They were hunting something that didn't belong in a school — which meant Dean had to keep his mouth shut and his hands to himself.

But still, Dean hated the fact that the man he slept beside, the man he called home, the man with whom he vowed an eternity, was just another face at this classroom.

"Thank you Nick", Cas said, he always called his students by their name to give them the respect and show them that they are all seen.

Well, except Dean, cuz Cas was a Winchester himself and he knows how much his husband loves knowing who the Angel belongs to.

"But go ahead Mr. Winchester", Cas said, gazing into the green eyes, Dean and Sam were in their mid-forties, yet looked to be in their early 20s, thanks to their hunting life and also some magic from Cas.

Dean smirked at Nick, "Well, we have studied about sirens, shapeshifters, werewolves, vampires, werepire—", Cas interrupted.

"There is no such thing as that and I have never taught you that", he said and yes, he was teaching "mythology".

Dean smiled, "Great another day's lesson decided, and there is such a thing, ask Sam", Dean said, he had always wanted to make his husband say werepire and had never succeeded.

Sam nodded, not wanting to say a word and get between marital arguments, and Cas sighed, "There is another name for that, and no I am not saying it", Cas said before Dean could open his mouth.

"Oh come on! I know you want to say it", Dean said and Cas decided to ignore his husband and Dean threw his hands up, his ring—a black band traced with Cas's blue grace (thanks to his powers amped up by Jack) for protection, glinting.

Cas's eyes caught the ring and smiled, he was still surprised to have married the most wonderful man ever.

"So you want to study werepire?", Sam asked trying to diffuse the tension as always, "There's no—", Cas stopped short, taking a deep breath.

"No", Dean said his smile growing and Cas narrowed his eyes, "I want to study about Angels", Dean finished and there was pindrop silence.

Cas never expected this, Sam also smirked, he liked this, they have always asked Cas about Angels and he was always dodged, but not anymore.

"No one wants to learn about Angels", Cas said trying to dodge, "We want to", the voices came back and he sighed.

"You can all learn about Angels in the books and tv shows", Cas said and no one blinked, "How about we ask questions, something that has always bothered us", Sam suggested and Cas sighed.

"You are not going to take no as an answer are you?", Cas asked and they all shook their head, "Fine, go ahead", he said and sat on his desk.

Dean was loving everything about what was going on, immediately all hands went up and Cas chose the first question, completely ignoring Sam and Dean.

"What kind of beings are angels—spiritual, energetic, symbolic, or personal intelligences?", "Well, they are everything at once, they can be whatever you want them to be", Cas replied.

"Do angels have free will, or do they act only according to divine command?", Cas looked at Dean as the question was asked, their eyes locking.

'Nothing about our lives are real... you asked what about all this were real—We are.'

"Uhmm", Cas said looking away, "Both, I guess, it depends", he answered, not too truthfully and he immediately picked another.

"Can angels change, learn, or grow?", again Dean looked at Cas, he was not liking this, he was planning to have fun and this was opposite of fun.

'Don't ever change... You changed me, Dean'

"Yes they can, with the right role model", Cas said, 'I'm not exactly a role model... that's not true Dean'.

"Do angels serve only God, or do they serve humanity as well?", Sam snorted at this and Dean glared at him, but Cas's thoughts were somewhere else.

'You draped yourself in the flag of heaven, but ultimately it was all about saving one man... Dean Winchester, guess what he's dead too.'

"Cas—Professor Novak?", Dean called snapping Cas out of his thoughts knowing where his mind was.

"Yeah, uh sorry, I don't know", Cas said and picked Sam to get his mind off of all this, "Do Angels sleep or do they always watch over other people, I mean humans?", he asked trying to keep together his laughter.

"You know what Sam", Dean went to punch Sam, "Dean", Cas commanded stopping him, "Some Angels choose to watch over humans to protect them", Cas replied and smiled at his best friend gratefully.

He was back on track, "Are there limits to what angels are allowed to do for humans?", "Oh come on", Dean muttered, his face burning.

"Yes, there are limits", Cas answered smiling at his husband blushing, "What caused the fall of angels in traditions that teach this?", Cas's smile slipped.

He made the Angels fall with Metatron, it was the worst year of his life, all of them are restored now, at least everyone who was alive, thanks to Jack, but still it was sore topic.

"You know what, I have a question", Dean interrupted not wanting Cas to answer a hard topic, Cas looked at him.

Dean didn't look at the class when he spoke — only at Cas, "What happens," he asked quietly, "when an angel chooses one human over everything else?", he bit his lip, trying not to smile.

Cas froze, why was Dean asking this?
