They'd been gone for two days, yet when they stepped back, the world hadn't moved on—it was still the same night they had left, "I have to say, it is cool, when time doesn't pass for us", Dean said with a childlike glee on his face and Cas chuckled.

"What? Don't give me that," Dean nudged, "You've seen everything—this is new for me", he said and Cas shook his head, fond, and pressed a kiss to his forehead teleporting them back to the motel.

Dean's smile dropped, "I have to go, but Dee, I want you to with Bobby and Sam, summon me and trap me—not now, though", Cas said seeing his love's face.

"What? why?", he asked, "I want them to start doubting me and then trap me, because they don't know I am working with Crowley, they need to find out on their own... I just can't be the one to tell them. Not right now", the angel explained and Dean nodded.

"How is the war? I mean, are you ok?", Dean asked and Cas smiled, "I'm alive as of yet, but", he stopped, he didn't know what to say without worrying his love.

"Don't worry about it, I'll try to find a way to bring Sam's soul back, it will be difficult considering it was with Lucifer and Michael all this time", Cas said and explained the cons on bringing Sam's soul back.

Dean paled hearing it, "But I will do something one way or another", Cas said and with a quick peck to his husband he flew away.

Everything happened as it was planned by the husbands but Crowley betrayed them and Cas was presumed dead.

Dean broke in a way no one would've thought possible, that day was the first time the hunter returned home alone in more than a year.

And this time, there was no plan, no hunt, no way to fix it just grief—and the slow, dangerous need to bring his angel back.

He had slept crying and holding onto Cas's trench coat, praying to whatever power out there to bring his husband back to him.

Maybe the power listened or something because he did find Cas, only to lose him again to mental torture.

Dean was seriously thinking of ending it all, but his little brother needed him, the World needed him, so he powered through with stone heart.

He did try ending the fight with Leviathans with Cas, but that ended in both of them stranded in Purgatory and separated which drove Dean up the wall.

Benny, a vampire in Purgatory has heard of Dean Winchester, the brutal hunter, with a younger brother.

Everyone has heard of Dean but when Benny met the hunter he thought the stories were lie because Dean was not brutal, he was a ruthless monster laying everything waste that stood between him and his Angel.

Benny figured a little no-strings intimacy might help the hunter, he had nearly lost his head for suggesting it.

Dean had swung the blade and stopped right on Benny's neck, another inch and Benny's head would've rolled.

The blade stopped cold. No shake, no hesitation. That wasn't normal. Someone had taught him control like that, "If you suggest that again, I won't stop", Dean said and Benny nodded.

This much control even in anger was surprising, but he understood something after finding the angel.

The way Dean's shoulder had relaxed and he had laughed for the first time, Benny had never seen him laugh before.

Dean hugged Cas burying his face in the angel's shoulder letting a few tears slip free, while his hands clawed into Cas's hair and shoulders trying to pull him closer.

Cas had held him too, tight, "You are an ass Cas, you can't just leave me like that", he said and Cas explained how he had stayed two steps ahead to keep the dangerous demons away from Dean and Dean fell in love again with his angel.
