"Mum", I heard the meek sound of my daughter.

"Yes, honey?", I asked, kneeling in front of my six year old daughter.

"Why is daddy leaving us?"

I could hear my heart breaking at her words.

"He is just going for-"

"Stop lying to her, Y/N", I heard the voice of the man that I had come to love.

"Harry, please-", I stood up.

"No. She should know this-"

"Angela, please go to your room", I mutter. She looked at me and ran away from the kitchen.

"Are you out of your mind, Harry? She's six. She's too young for your crap."

"Oh, so now you're going to tell me how to take care of my daughter?"

I gasped, "How dare you? You weren't even there half of the time. Do you even know what her first word is, or what her favourite toy's name is? Oh, wait! How would you know? You were too busy shacking some other woman", I snapped.

And then, I heard a smack and a loud cry. Harry slapped me and I felt a pair of small arms wrap around my legs.

"Y/N, I'm-"

"Oh, save the sob story for someone else, Harry", I said and picked Angela in my arms.

"Don't ever come near me again. Find yourself a new flat. I don't want to see you here anymore."

"Y/N, I'm sorry, baby-"

"I told you I don't want to hear the sob story, will you just keep your mouth shut?"

"Mummy", I heard my daughter whimper and wrap her little arms around neck, burying her head.

"Shh, sweetheart. Mum's here."

I walked us to my room and lied down with her beside me.

Angela suddenly got up, opening my cosmetic drawer and taking something out.

I saw a cream in her hand as she shifted on the bed and sat in front of me.

She put the cream on the cheek that Harry had so daringly hit.

I winced.

"I'm sorry, Mummy. Does it hurt?", she asked, tears running down her cheeks.

A stray tear escaped from my eye and fell down the bridge of my nose. Angela brought her hand and pushed the tear away.

"Don't cry, Mummy. We don't need daddy."

"Oh, sweetie", I whimpered as I grabbed my daughter and hugged her.

A knock on my bedroom door, brought me back to reality as I pushed away the tears from my face.

"What do you want?", I asked.

"Please open the door, baby", I heard Harry say from behind the door.

Angela shook her head as I got up.

"No, Mummy! I don't want daddy to hit you!", she said.

I could hear the sob that Harry let out from the other side of the door.

I gave her a smile and opened the door, and suddenly Harry wrapped his arms around my waist and hid his face in the crook of my neck.

I kept my hands on my side. I couldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing that I still love him.

"I'm sorry, baby. I'm sorry about hitting you. I'm so sorry I hurt you, baby. I swear. Please, forgive me", he whimpered.

"Harry, we're getting divorced soon. It was your wish. Don't apologise for your actions. What's done is done."
