In today's society, we're all expected to be certain people, like we're tied up with strings and have a master to control us. We're expected to fulfill our labels, whatever they might be. Girls at a young age are taught that they shouldn't be interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) careers or shouldn't play sports. Yet they can if they want to. It's their life, not your's. Their decision. We're all human beings and we're all taken for granted at one point or another. We're all built the same way, yet created different. We all have different ways of thinking and different souls within us. But we can't seem to find who we are because labels tear our dreams in half. Girls and women are expected to be skinny, have a thy gap, be perfect from head to toe. But we don't have to be perfect to be beautiful. We're all beautiful just the way we are. We shouldn't change for anyone. Especially today's society.
Just because someone's really smart, doesn't mean that they're a loser. Just because someone doesn't have many friends doesn't mean they're a loner. Just because someone may do something differently doesn't give you a right to tease them and push them around. They actually have the guts to stick out and be themselves. What about you? Do you have enough courage to actually stand out and express yourself? We chose to stand out from the crowd. We want to.
We're always labeled on our appearances and ability. But those don't really define us. We make our own labels for ourselves. Something about us that represents who we are. The only label you should wear is your name. Nothing else. No one needs to call you anything else. Labels try to control us, but it never works on us.
