Chapter 3:New Shiner

The instant I realize who the man is, I make a run for it. Cars nearly strike me as I make my way through the busy streets. I don't look back. Minutes later I find an open field. I see three flashes of light in the sky. One of them is red, it seems to gain more speed by each passing second. Suddenly it's gone. There's a white one, it's slower than the red one. It suddenly changes direction, and ascends until it's gone.

The third one is yellow, it's slower than the last two, but it's still fast. I blink once. When I open my eyes, the yellow light smacks into me. A burning sensation flows through my body then pain, it feels like I'm being baked alive in a oven.

I shout because the pain is extremely excruciating. Seconds later, the pain is gone. I feel...different. Then I see the man in black, he roughly yanks me to him. He takes off his sunglasses.

" You like playing mind games, boy?!" He asks.

I look into his blue irises, it's hard not to. Images come into view. I see a teenage boy being stabbed to death. The men in black are laughing in the background. Then I see a old man being shot down by a long transparent gun. The memories are as if I'm the one who experienced them. It's as if I'm the one who killed these people. My eyes are seeing what the man holding me saw, he's sharing his experiences just like the other one did back in the facility.

He killed them.

I'm pulled back into reality.

" Why?" I ask.

He stares at me, grabbing a dagger from a pocket in his vest.

" Because you caused us trouble." He says.

Just as the blade nearly impales me in the chest, the ground opens up. Mud rises up as if it's alive, and grip the man hard on the leg. The man gives me one last look of hatred and is swallowed down the ground's throat. It closes back up, I move my feet over to where the ground opened, no sign of collapse. It's as if the ground never split apart. Even the grass is unbroken.

What just happened?

" You." I hear behind me.

I turn around, it's the man with gray eyes. The one who showed me one of his memories.

" You killed him." He says in shock.

He pulls something out from his coat. The last thing I see is a flash of light, darkness clouds my vision.

My eyes snap open. I'm strapped down on a chair, it looks like one that would be in a dentist's office. Someone is watching me. A man, his right eye is brown and his left eye is blue. Black hair is cut close to his scalp. He walks over to me.

" What do you know about the Stars that fell?" He asks.

" Nothing." I respond.

I'm punched in the cheek.

" Tell me." He demands, his voice is furious.

I shake my head, and focus on the ground. Maybe I can tear it open, just like I did before. I feel vibrations and before I can release my power, I'm punched in the chest. The man grabs a helmet with a cord attached to it. He places it on my head.

" Since you won't tell, you are going to suffer."

I hear a lever being pulled. Different flashes of light penetrates my vision. Then I'm somewhere different, not with the man anymore.

" Tell me everything you see." I hear the man say.

I walk through what seems like a endless field of flowers and tall grasses. I began to fall. Images speed past, a girl with short brown hair on a plane. Then I'm conscious again. I'm no longer in the cold room with the strange man. Instead I'm laying down on top of a hill. A man is kneeling beside me, his hair is golden blond and his amber eyes stare into my green ones.

" Who are you?" I ask.

" There isn't much time, we have to move." He responds.

The man helps me up. I notice that in the distance, is a MASSIVE hole in the ground. Did I do that? It appears like it was some type of building. There are long black guns scattered around, and they don't look like they were made on Earth. Rubble is everywhere, wooden planks resting on top of chunks of metal.

I follow the man to wherever that might be.
