Chapter 28:The Last Two

Alan-

I watch as the buildings speed by, my head rested on the car window. Anthony is driving one of Jace's SUVs we found in the mansion's garage. Everett and Three snore in the backseat if the vehicle.

Behind us is a silver Ferrari-Harry is driving that, Lucy inside the car with him. The darts Lucy possess is very valuable, it was able to weaken Mersidion drastically. Luckily, she still has the dart.

It's been one hour since everyone-instead of us, has died. Minutes ago, two final Nitaves of Mersidion's army, have decided to stay in Utah. I'm pretty sure that there are now going to be U.F.O. sightings in Utah, now.

We know the Shiner Force will help us, but we don't need their help. As my new position as Shiner King, I decided that we will be fighting Mersidion alone. Mersidion should still be weak, and he left his wand at the mansion.

When we found his wand, I kept it for myself.

Everett informed us that Mersidion has six Shiners under his control. We plan on converting them to our side, and rescuing them.

We arrive at the hideout of the Nitaves who rescued Mersidion. It's a base, smaller than most, but still built the same. It's a gray building the size of a school, and appears to have three floors.

"Let's go." I say.

We pile outside the SUV. Harry and Lucy get out if their vehicle, and we stride over to the fence surrounding the base. Since we destroyed all, but two of Mersidion's army, there are no guards or soldiers.

There are guards, but they are not Nitaves-they are Shiners. Four of them are all men, the other two are teenagers-one boy and one girl.

The four Shiner men stride over to us, and they unsheathes their swords. Everett panics and sends metal spikes sailing their way. The spikes impale the Shiner men, killing them. Everett moves on to the Shiner girl.

The Shiner girl is pretty, but not THAT pretty, not extremely. She has nice, long dirty blond hair, with blue eyes. Everett readies a metal spike, his eyes focused on the girl. The Shiner boy has pale skin, black hair, and blue eyes.

The boy starts to grow. He becomes ten feet tall, rust-colored fur sprouts from his body. He continues to shapeshift until he's a humanoid fox with sharp teeth. He swiftly charges to Lucy. Harry panics, and decapitates the boy's head with his scythe.

Harry moves closer to Lucy, intent on protecting her.

"How do we stop the brainwashing?!" I ask Everett. I don't want another Shiner killed.

Everett doesn't respond to my question, instead he reaches out. He takes the girl's hands in his.

"We don't want to hurt you." Everett tells the girl."You are on the wrong side, if you join us, I assure you will be safe."

The Shiner girl nods, and hugs Everett. He doesn't embrace her back, instead he shoves her away.

"I don't like hugs." He says. Then after awhile, he apologizes."Sorry, I was brainwashed for years, ever since I was six. It's going to take awhile for the Nitave aggression pills' effects to go away, possible weeks."

Everett turns metal, and runs into the fence-shattering it apart.

"What's your name?" Everett asks the girl.

"I d-don't remember." She replies.

Everett sighs, then rushes towards the doors of the base. The rest of us follow him. The Shiner girl places her hands on the double doors, and they explode inwards. Sirens echo throughout the base.
