Maddy-

The world around me is a blur as I sprint. I stop running after thirty seconds, breathing heavily and resting against a tree.

"I miss Anthony," I mutter to Paul. I loved it how every time I would wear a skirt, he would actually smile. If he was here, it would be him protecting me and not Paul. Then I speak louder."What ever happened to that Yangle person?"

"I don't know, Maddy." Paul replies, glancing over his shoulder. I clutch my bow, loving the fact that I now own a weapon that once belonged to Anthony.

"Do you how many Nitaves are left?" I ask him as we start walking again.

"The other Nitaves haven't arrived yet, thank goodness for that. We don't have the firepower for an entire army of Nitaves to attack us," Paul says. It's terrible seeing him like this, his hope of winning gone."Maybe if we had Four here, Kyle is also gone."

"So you think we won't win?" I ask him. He nods, then releases a depressive sigh."I wish it could stop, too. All my life I've been polite and a good person. We don't deserve to die to tonight. We were so foolish, there's no stopping the Nitaves." I drop my bow and quiver on the ground.

"Listen to me, Maddy," Paul says, seriously. He pulls me into a hug, and I hug him back."You are like a daughter to me and I love you."

"I love you too." I tell him. Then I quickly detach from him when I see Yangle a few yards away.

"What is it?" He asks me, unaware of Yangle behind him.

"It's the Nitave general." I say with fear in my voice. Paul whips around and faces Yangle.

"Maddy, run away." Paul commands. I shake my head even though he can't see me.

"I'm not running. I won't let you die again." I tell him, sprinting to my bow and quiver. I equip myself with them, then prepare to fire a arrow at Yangle.

"How about we fight with swords?" Yangle asks Paul as three more Nitaves arrive."A duel. My men won't hurt you or Maddy, unless you or Maddy hurts us. Deal?"

"Sure." Paul says. He grabs a Nitave sword from the ground, then gets into a defensive stance. Yangle lunges forward with his sword drawn. Paul blocks the first swing, but he gets sliced on the arm on the second swing of Yangle's sword.

The three Nitave minions of Yangle laugh, seeing Paul wounded must be amusing for them. Paul begins to pant as the minutes pass. Paul blocks the next few swings, but that's when Yangle manages to stab him in the shoulder.

"Pathetic Shiner. The Nitaves used to be almost entirely invincible. A gunshot to the head couldn't even kill us. If guns were invented back then," Yangle explains as he dodges Paul's sword swings."We were also twenty feet tall, but that all changed when we first made contact with you Shiners. You all devolved us into weaklings! The Humans secretly worshipped us as Gods, how pathetic of them. We also had more powers and better mind tricks, and delusions which we loved to mess with the Humans' minds. After we devolved because of you Shiners, we mated with Humans. The result was comatose children with glowing skin, so we exterminated them and Nitaves were forbidden from entering relationships with Humans. Anyways, that history lesson is over. Time to die!"

Yangle raises his sword and brings it down. Paul dives to the right, then slices off Yangle's left hand, the hand that he was using to wield the sword.

"This is just a mere injury. Sharkutt can easily make a new hand grow." Yangle says, then he grabs the sword with his remaining hand. I watch in disgust as he rips off the severed hand from the handle. Paul waits for Yangle to prepare, before he slashes at him again.

Paul's blade connects with Yangle's neck, creating a thin cut on his throat. Then Paul stabs him in his left leg. Yangle grunts and attacks Paul, punching his head. Paul collapses on the ground, conscious but dizzy.

Yangle knocks him out, then turns to face me. As a response, I aim a arrow at him. The other three Nitaves aim their long, gray ray guns at me.

"I wouldn't so that, unless you want them to kill you." Yangle tells me. A hooded figure rushes into view, sending a metal spike into one of the Nitaves. At first I think the person is Everett, but swiftly dismiss that thought. Everett was wearing a gray polo shirt last I seen him, which was when he was taken away by that Nitave monster.

The other two Nitaves are blown away when the person shouts. The pair of Nitaves hit their heads on a tree, then become unconscious from the impact. Yangle charges at me with his sword held tightly in his one hand.

The mysterious person rushes at him, grabbing Yangle by his neck. He chops off Yangle's left arm at the elbow. A loud pained scream is releases from Yangle's mouth. The person then squeezes Yangle's neck harder. I watch as his eyes start to bulge, and a few minutes later, his skin changes color.

When Yangle becomes unconscious, the person stomps on his neck and breaks it. Paul begins to regain consciousness, slowly sitting up. As the person steps towards me, I take a few steps back.

"Don't be scared." The person says in a familiar teenaged boy's voice. He pulls down his hood, revealing Anthony's smiling face.

"Anthony." I say in shock, running over and hugging him tightly.

Author's Note-I'm so glad that I brought back Anthony. Him and Maddy are my favorite couple. And Everett isn't dead, I won't let him die because I think redheads are cool, plus Everett's awesome. And this battle will last for a couple of more chapters too.

Thanks for reading.
