Asott-

I'm dreaming. I walk through a thick growth of trees and grass until I find a hut. Dead bodies of Nitaves lay on the ground, there are numerous massive holes in the ground. A dark mass soon grabs my leg and drags me under with it. I shout as I'm dragged away into complete and total darkness.

" Asott!" I hear someone yell.

My eyes snap open. I take in my surroundings, I'm lying in bed and Haydley is knelt down beside me, also on the bed. I probably woke her up. Ever since I witnessed my best friend, Werus, get sent away to wherever, I started to rebel against my parents.

Yesterday I made Haydley my girlfriend. Her parents are on a week long vacation for their anniversary, and Haydley allowed me to spend the night at her house. My parents think I'm on a solo Nitave mission, when in reality I'm doing human teenager things.

Where I come from, women are won by fighting her father in a duel, if she has no father you would fight the girl's brother or a different male family member.

Haydley is what humans would call "hot". She has long reddish-brown hair and brown eyes. A slim body and thin lips. We've been sleeping in her bedroom in the same bed.

" Are you okay?" Haydley asks concerned.

" Yes." I reply." Just a nightmare."

Haydley pulls the sheets back over her and closes her eyes. When I know she's sleep, I walk to the kitchen and sit on a stool. I look at the oven's clock and see that it is 4:35 A.M. I am so happy that school is out due to summer break. I'm only dating Haydley as rebellion against my parents, but I don't think having a girlfriend will be so bad.

My phone vibrates on the kitchen table, I grab it. My dad is calling.

" Hey dad." I say.

" How's California? Did you kill anything yet?" He asks.

" Yeah, I just got done stabbing a jogger in a park. I have to go, these human cops are chasing me." I lie.

" Good job." He says, I hang up.

I brush my teeth in one of the bathrooms. Then I clear my ears, cleansing them of dirt and ear wax. Sometimes I wish I wasn't a Nitave, but quickly dismiss that idea soon after. We're all extremely attractive, especially to Humans. The only negative thing about our physical appearance is our glowing eyes. They constantly glow, even when we die. At school, I can only dull them into their glowing only a little but. The glow is uncontrollable when Shiners are in the area.

Shiners are a Nitave's worst enemy. Sex with a Shiner results in the death of the Nitave, which further adds on the hate my race directs on them.

Luckily for me and my race, most Humans don't know about us. I think about my parents as I leave the room. My mom is sweet and caring, my dad is too, but he won't hesitate to kill me if he discovered that I am in love with a Human.

"Rave Asottuli." I say aloud-my dad's name. My dad is a spy for the Nitaves, but in order to blend in with the Humans, he works as a Zookeeper during the day. My mom is a Nitave nurse who tends to the Nitave warriors who get wounded during battle.

It's strange, I'm at a human's dwelling, Haydley doesn't even know me that well. It isn't a suprise, because Nitaves tend to be perfect charmers to humans, when a human looks into our eyes, they will want to fulfill are every wish. Although, I'm pretty sure that Haydley accepted my request to be me girlfriend because she already had a crush on me. When school was in, she was my Biology partner because she chose me to, I'm one of the loner types so I had to accept her as my partner since I had no one else to be mine. Most of the time when working on a project, we never talked about anything other than the project itself.
