Chapter 17:Falling for You

Josh-

"Okay, let's stop for snack." Brandon announces.

We're not even halfway to Arizona yet. Brandon believes we should be there in five more days. I get out of the SUV, and we head inside the rest stop.

I use a vending machine to buy two bags of prestels. Tara buys a bag of chips, and I don't see what Danny and Werus buy.

While heading back to the SUV, Tara grabs my left arm. I turn to face her.

"What is it?" I ask her.

"I think I'm falling for you." She says, then she kisses me passionately. I kiss her back, wanting to cherish this moment forever. Eventually we pull away, and I take her hand.

All of a sudden, a vision come to me. I see a Chinese teenager with Alan fighting off Nitaves with dozens of Nitave ships arriving. Then the vision ends.

"What's wrong?" Tara asks, caressing one of my cheeks.

"Alan is in trouble." I reply.

"Don't worry, Alan's strong." She says to me.

"I doubt it." I tell her."He hasn't even developed any new superpowers these past two months. Jumping high and being able to manipulate the ground, isn't that powerful when you know about plenty other superpowers that other Shiners have."

She nods, then wraps her arms around me.

"He'll be okay." She whispers.

Varlu rushes to me in beagle form.

"Josh! Josh, you have to save them." He somehow tells me. I think I just developed the power of Animal Communication."I was peeing in the woods nearby, and there was a Nitave talking about how he captured others of my kind. He said they're in Colorado, do something please!"

I kneel down to pet his head.

"I'll rescue them, buddy." I tell him.

I dash into the woods, and spot the Nitave. He's stepping inside a spaceship, forty feet away. My lasers disintegrates him as I let the blasts emerge from my eyes.

Then I head back to the others.

"Guys." I tell them."I know a way we can get to Arizona faster without taking a plane."

"What is it?" Danny asks me.

"A spaceship." I reply. Then I look at Varlu,"But first we must do something for Varlu."
